My ST-1 got the TusqXL string retainers as its one and only mod. I've not done anything to the CV excepting a string change, oil the fret board and general detailing. Nice features comparison!

My M-Musi classic Strat is less $$ than the Squire and has: staggered locking Tuners, bone nut, stainless Steels frets, 9.5 to 12 radius, roasted maple neck, rosewood fretboard with abalone inlays, 3 alnico 5 pups with insulated cloth wire, shielded cavities, huge block attached to a heavy bridge with solid steel saddles, full size pots, american blade switch, pure tone jack, contoured heel, oversized strap buttons, truss rod wheel adjustment and 8.4 lbs.
For me, forget budget strats, this thing is my gold standard for a Strat period! Hahahaha.
Sorry you asked lol!
In my opinion, the Tease is an overall better guitar out of the box than your squire.
Feature for dollar, the Squire falls short. That being said if the brand name is more important to you than features and price, then it doesn't matter because "Fender" wins over "Tease" where brand names are concerned!
