Wait, bass Andertons and guitar Andertons know each other!?? I thought they existed in separate universes.

Wow! That intro was absolute fire! I love hearing a bass demo in the context of a band. It really makes the bass (as well as the other instruments) shine. The Captain, Nathan, and The Mysterious Danish Drummer sound excellent together! MORE!!!

That bass sound in the intro was epic! Nice job of featuring that jazz bass growl in the balance.

I have the G&L JB. It's so much nicer to play than my MIM P-Bass. G&L make amazing instruments.

I feel like G&L is almost always a better VALUE for the same dollar. A lot of Fender is branding at this point. Of courses they still make great instruments, but I love my G&L L1000 to death and it was far more reasonable than the top of the line Fender equivalent P-Bass

I like the hybrids - the ones with a P Bass front pickup and a Jazz Bass rear pickup. Best of both worlds.

G&L is just killing it. I’ve got four Fenders but am seriously jonesing for G&L.

The LB in LB100 stands for Legacy Bass, G&Ls kudos to Leo's first bass creation, but had to change the name, because another company already used the name legacy ..G&L ❤ here!

While the Squire Jazz is a pretty good bass, the G&L has enough upgrades with the block inlays, the upgraded bridge and the high output pickups to more than make it worth the price difference. To me the Squire is a great modding platform for those who want to change things and make it their own. The G&L seems more like it is better from the get go to the point that you would not have to upgrade things. There seems to be a similar thing going on with the P style basses but without the inlay upgrades. Having said that, the 6 bolt system on the neck makes the G&L pretty tour ready - you know the neck is going to break before those bolts ever get ripped out.

Pickups immediately sound louder and brighter on the G&L vs Squire. Fantastic looking bass.

I always wondered why Leo did not design amps with G&L.
I know he had to sign a 10 years non-compete contract when he sold Fender to CBS in 1965 and that is why he stayed in the background when Musicman started building amps but after 1975 he was free to do whatever he wanted.
By the way... he sold Fender for $13 million which is the equivalent of $107.5 million today.

Having owned an american P for a number of years I'd go for the G and L. I always forget about their existence, thanks to the video my GAS is growing!

I was about to get a Fender Precision Bass, but I decided to get the Squier version to save some money, since I just made an expensive purchase on a new 6 string guitar. The reviews of the Squier have been nothing but great from what I've seen. Probably pick one up by the spring. Thanks for the cool video.

I bought a G&L guitar in the Jan sale (from Tribute series) and can definitely vouch for their build quality. I put it at least as high as the player range over at Fender.

The intro gig has the tastiest basslines,

Only tone off with a P Bass? Surely, you jest! My '77 fretless maple blank plank P Bass just recoiled in horror at the thought that it's a one-trick pony. For you P Bass players out there who think a P only does tone rolled off, explore the full tonal palette. Play behind the pickup. Play in front of it. Stick foam under the strings at the bridge. Take it out. On a fretless, explore fretting with the pads of your fingers and then compare with the fingertips proper. There are a zillion tones to be had in that OG.

LB stands for "Legacy Bass" and as there were copyright issues they renamed the bass to "LB".

I own both of these basses and a CV 70’s Jazz Bass V I purchased this year. I love them all but I have to give it up to G&L JB and it’s my workhorse of the 3. I usually take a 4 and a 5 string J bass on the road and all of them are absolutely gig worthy out of the box. You can’t go wrong with any of these basses and I highly recommend them both.
