Children are not human beings

When we look at the way we interact with children, it becomes obvious, that we don't consider them to be human beings...

This is why I quit teaching. I couldn't violate my students' rights, and often got in trouble for not enforcing rules that degraded them.

This video should be broadcast live on every TV on every channel and played on a loop for a week

What a superb video. Only a troll would dare to tell you that you're wrong. The parent -child relationship is definitely mental slavery. I love the part where you explain that "adults" are the ones who feed kids the fairytales in the first place, and then laugh at the kids for believing it. So true.

I needed dental work as a minor, and due to my parents' (mostly my dad's) beliefs, they wouldn't take me. They knew I was in near constant pain for 2 months, btw, though I had other problems they didn't know about.

Even if I could somehow save up money and get transportation from the boonies to visit a dentist, minors are not allowed to undergo medical procedures without permission from a legal guardian.

Another detail is that I wouldn't have been legally allowed to get insurance or get a loan from a bank to help pay the medical expenses without permission either, even if I didn't need permission for the operations.

There are certain powers that human beings should simply not have over each other, imo.

That situation had a good resolution for me, thank God, but it goes to show the lack of rights minors have, even over their own bodies. It's disgusting.

This is so funny! And you are right! We treat children so unbelievably unfairly. It made large parts of my childhood a living nightmare.

I think this video only makes sense to people whose parents were less expressive with their affection. When love is involved, your judgement will be clouded and you might think that the lack of rights in your childhood was done out of love. But when the very same lack of rights is imposed with less love, you will become aware of the reality of your condition. My parents were just as strict as the majority of parents but struggled to show affection. That made me very aware of my status as a non-human.

When I went into schools in Japan I saw how it was just like a prison for children. And how every part of it was just forcing and manipulating the children into doing what they didn't want to do.
And the teacher's either thought they were doing the right thing and the children's pushback was the children's fault. But I could tell there were other teachers like me who knew how fucked up this all was.

I remember when I was like 9 or 10 me and my siblings came home from school and my mom was in a bad mood instantly and was talking about her problems and I said "we are people too and have issues and problems aswell" and she looked at me her eyes widened and said nothing I think she realized we were people that day

we will know that the masses are waking up when the birth rate drops. until then they will keep pushing out these poor little slaves who have to suffer and do things they don't want to do . i personally am never having children, it almost feels immoral to do so in today's world

Whenever I get a new psychiatrist, they ask if I've experienced trauma or abuse. I used to chuckle and say "Yeah." When they asked what happened, I'd tell them "I was a child." They'd what specifically, and I'd balk, as I'd just told them.
This happened several times before I realized people don't even consider their own past-selves to be human beings.

Children are not people, they are essentially personal property until they achieve economic independence. There are some basic regulations concerning how one must treat them, they are property nonetheless.

I agree to a extent, that educational systems are extremely flawed, we should be feeding the children's natural curiousity to make learning more engaging and fun, instead of dictating what they should know and be interested in, when giving them work to do, they should be able to complete it in any order. However, children are human beings, but they're not fully developed human beings - it is arguable when a child becomes developed - they are reliant on their parents to provide shelter, food and security since they cannot provide it for themselves, they cannot make many decisions for themselves that fit into societal norms i.e they make absurd claims like wanting to go to school without shoes (since they don't know it might hurt them even) and parents are there to make the child conform to social norms, as without parents the children would not know implicit social norms, like it being extremely rude to spit at people etc.

I treat animals as a human being. I make no difference they also so so.
Love, time and understanding is all what it needs.
Children are no toys and animals too.
Living beings should never be seen and treated as toys or hobbies.
I treat them with love and respect. No matter what it is. I take care of it.
