This video was awesome, even if it is very few and far between, I would love to see reviews of other things here. It feels very satisfying to get a review from someone who is not engrossed in the tech industry so it feels way more genuine. This format could also support other things and not just tech, maybe review places that you go or food you eat.

I have thousands of hours played on my poor Switch Lite, and it's honestly the only real thing I have the time and capacity for. I've been wanting a steam deck to finally get into all of my steam games, but this is a good persuasion otherwise! Windows seems annoying on it, but I'd LOVE portability with my PS games!

The latest Steam client includes screen recording. You can wait for the update to come to the stable channel or you can go into the Steam Deck's settings and turn on the beta channel if you want to try it now.

I love my steamdeck, have not yet learned to customize mine yet to do windows/gog etc just yet. I seen gamedev friends managed to be able to get stuff like game engines working on thiers like unreal engine 5, godot, unity, as well as programs like houdini, blender as well. Which I have yet to learn how to do on my SteamDeck but to lazy lol.

I have the OG one, myself I will wait for Ally 2 before buying another. Love it just wish It did have more RAM like the Ally X does.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can play Playstation anywhere except a PS device. They have released some games onto PC through Steam etc, but the PSPlus doesn't allow you to access your library of games on PC. BUT, you might be able to set it up to remote play the Playstation. I have never done this myself, but it would basically start you PS at home and stream the game through the internet. Again, not 100% sure on this.

XBox is a bit different, because XBox is both Console and PC...most of the console games can be played on PC (but I don't think all).

Anyways, the device looks pretty good, and having that versatility would definitely make up for having to go through a lengthier setup! Do another review of it in say 3 - 6 months on how you feel about it then!

As a PC gamer i really have a hard time understanding why playing on such a small little device is fun for anyone, but i am most likely not the target audience for these controllers :P
Also i love project zomboid, so please show us how you play it on the device there! That would be fun!
I LOVE my switch, but it is ALWAYS connected to the TV lol, i cannot play with it in my hands, its too small.. I loved my PS2 but i just never got into other consoles like that, i would rather just use my PC haha, I have also been a PC gamer since i was what 6? That's 22 years now..

To your point of not being able to screen record on the Steam Deck, Valve actually recently added screen recording to Steam, which is available on the Steam Deck.

I know you're enjoying your ROG Ally X, and I hope you continue to enjoy it. But I thought you and anyone watching this should know that it actually is capable of doing screen recording out of the box now.

I have not played games in _years_ because I couldn't afford to get something decent... until April this year (got into debts tho but not the point). I bought a used Steam Deck OLED and it is _the best_ investment I had ever put my money into.

Granted, my trigger happy fingers made me waste a lot of money on games (specifically like right at this moment where I don't think I have enough cash for the rest of the month) and my hobbies have been reduced to make up time for games... but ever since I own the Steam Deck, it has been _extremely_ enjoyable.

Currently playing online and am having a blast playing with strangers.

Steam Deck is still the better handheld simply because SteamOS > Windows.

for some people, sure the Ally X would replace the SD in terms of a windows handheld Device. but the SD is still good in it's own regard for the native steam OS, even if worried bout the battery life, there are power banks, that you could use.
