Why did Omni Man not step in when Mark was getting his ass handed to him by Battle Beast in Season 1? At the time many people speculated that Omni-Man chose not to interfere to teach his son a lesson on helping those beneath him which may be true, but the more prominent reason is that Nolan would’ve been absolutely destroyed by Battle Beast in a fight, since he is arguably one of the strongest beings in the Invincible Universe, which makes it all the more surprising that Machine Head was able to hire the final boss for a tutorial level mission

None of the other members of Battle Beast race are anywhere close to as powerful as he is. It’s unlikely Nolan knows about the curse.
At best Nolan saw him and the rest of the opponents and was expecting it would be fairly tough for Mark so he called in the rest of the Guardians.
He really didn’t think he’d be sending them all to their possible deaths.
It’s a good thing he did leave, otherwise Battle Beast would’ve taken the first seriously and they all woulda died together.

It was never stated in the comics or anywhere i think that he had previous knowledge on the strenght level.
Obviously he saw his son getting beaten up but he knew he would survive couse Viltrumites heal from nearly anything. Obviously as soon as he saw he was getting cooked for real he called the team to jump in.
Obviously if he went down there things would have turned into thanksgiving where Mark is just a warm up food and Nolan is the turkey.

But anyone saying "he was scared" is simply incorrect couse you can't be scared of someone or something that you don't know would beat you
