Pls. Note that some of the links are just SIMILAR items due to availability (many of my clothes are older), and that some of them are adlinks which means I might be working on an affiliate-based term with the brand/website. Therefore I may receive a small percentage in commission if a purchase is being made.

Also note that I go out of my way to find eco-friendly alternatives - either straight from an eco-brand or from a brand that is improving qualities (organic cotton, recycled polyester etc.).

"We need to say 'No thanks' to all of the excess in life." - How true. It is imperative that we always remember that there is NO END to things we could acquire and learn and practice the art of being very selective and to say no to most options available out there. Buy only what truly makes you happy and enhances your life for years to come not just once or twice.

Slow curation really is the name of the wardrobe game. It's not an overnight process, it's focusing on quality pieces you love over time!

I have a fairly large wardrobe but I have mostly second hand really nice pieces. Linen, cotton, silk and everything fits. I have made sure everything I love. ❤️❤️❤️

Hi, Signe!
As a materials engineer (okay, this apparently has nothing to do with 'the fashion world', lifestyle, etc...), I just want to tell you that I identify immensely with your point of view on consumerism vs. minimalism (even with all the stereotypes that this term carries in itself) and, more specifically, with your perspective on the impact that all this has caused on the world.
"Use less", to me, sounds like much more than a concept, a way of living or even a choice, but more than that, a necessity nowadays.
I'm glad I found your channel! So I congratulate you on the initiative to produce such a truly content relevant.
Thank you for making a difference. ❤️

I love that you take the time to time stamp your videos! I always end up watching the whole thing anyway haha but it's so nice that you have it!

I made a big downsizing today of my cosmetic and hygienic stuff - so great! It will make a big change to my morning routine, knowing exactly where is which product and not losing time searching for it (every single morning!). Having less products on the shelves actually makes me want to use them more 👍🏻 I wanted to share this, as we often keep focus on our clothes only, but there might be other areas more easy to start with or making a bigger difference to our every day life ❤️

I started minimizing in 2017. I have downsized to 40 clothing pieces (not including underwear, shoes & coats) for a 4 season climate. I have maintained that since fall of 2018.

From there I moved through the rest of the house!

Thank you Signe. You've inspired me to stand up and declutter. I have a bunch of items I'm not wearing (couldn't part with) and it's time to let things go. Less burden, more overview, more freedom. Take care!

Over the past two years, I’ve been building a capsule wardrobe and now have only items that I love and wear in rotation for all seasons. I’ve organized my closet into fall/winter and spring/summer sections. I have never enjoyed shopping, so now having a complete wardrobe that will be with me for a long while feels liberating. It’s such a relief to feel confident with the content of my closet needing nothing more. I can do so much more with my time than shop and stress over clothing.

I just finished "The Joy of Less", "The life-changing magic of tidying up" I read two weeks ago, and I'm halfway through "Goodbye, things".
Oh, and of course I've followed you for more than a year! In the course of this time, I've downsized my clothes by 60% and am currently still getting rid of things. Turned all my hangers the other way yesterday to see what I actually wear. 🤣
Now everything fits into a 1m wardrobe, which is awesome! The space is amazing.
I really love your style and philosophy in general, you are an inspiration.
Also: holy shit, that mirror at 7:35 was incredible! What a gorgeous piece.

I love a simple white shirt and jeans, I could wear it my whole life but because repeating outfits isn’t normalized I buy multiple cheap items instead of one quality item. And I wear them once and go back to not having any clothes to wear because initially I didn’t even want them... this year I’ve been really trying to stick to my own taste, irregardless of people’s opinions (my mom and sister constantly comment that my style is boring)... some days it’s harder to stay true to myself and I’m very happy you’re here to encourage me!

Recently I count all of my clothes. 177 items in total for 4 seasons and that's enough for me. Now I focus on replecing old, used items for new better quality one.

Excellent video. While you yourself have many of the classic pieces that other YouTubers/vloggers/bloggers recommend (black blazer, black moto jacket, white button down shirt etc), it is great that you allow people to find their own signature pieces instead of prescribing what people should own. Blazers don't necessarily suit everyone's lifestyle or personal style, for instance. Other people hate wearing jeans, as another example. You've emphasized the important principles rather than the specifics of which articles of clothing are necessary, which I really appreciate.

This video is inspiring. I want to embrace minimalism for my wardrobe. My concern is that I have recently lost 65 lbs and while I was losing, I picked up items that were fast fashion and not really me because I wasn’t sure where my size would settle and what my style truly was. Now, I have some pieces that fit the classic/edgy look I feel best in, but I need to invest in the basics for a functional wardrobe. Because of quarantine, I can’t thrift and my lifestyle has changed. Should I just do a purge and see what I can live without for the time being? It’s so hard.
