It’s true, Google has managed to escape the negative press of companies like Walmart and even Facebook but the truth is that Google is much more dangerous. Does anyone remember the 2016 Democratic Primaries? If you typed in "Hillary Clinton ind" to Bing or Yahoo it would autocomplete to "indictment." For Google, it would autocomplete to India.

Coming from the Big Data sector, I can tell you no one person can imagine just what is tracked in what we do.

Safest assumption? Just about everything for the layman.

Look at the Samsung 9. There are reports (and I've seen empirically) how the phone snoops conversations. I even had my manager simply discuss getting new business cards outside the office. Guess what showed up in a bunch of her ads when she sat back down at her desk? Mind you, this isn't the first time it's happened and there was no previous search history on anything she touched for "business cards".

So yeah, Alexa isn't the only one snooping.

And you don't want to know what investigators can find out about you if they look at your phone. Cross referencing texts and calls with GPS tracking just scratches the surface. Not to mention our phones have sensors that detect when a face is looking at the phone. In turn, yes, they do take snapshots withour your knowing. It's all about profiling every person down to every behavior aspect you have.

Ever try taking a U-turn really fast? Your phone may pop up a message asking if you need 9-1-1 assistance (gps detects a fast spin, assuming an accident).

Most of this data is used to sell ads. But the rest does get collected and used for snooping, profiling and guiding/shaping the user.

If your imagination can think of a new way on how to collect and profile data, it's already been done. Anyone can take a look at Youtube censoring for that one. Shadow banning is the new thing. You won't know that you've been banned - your content is still there. But you can get blocked from all search traffic quite easily.

I have several search engines that I use. And I think that's the key. We are giving them the monopoly, just say no. If everyone would use different ones at different times they would quit their orwellian ways. I personally like Duck Duck Go. Just don't use only one.
