New York City: The Big Crapple. It is a terrible place. If you live there, this is no surprise. Here are ONLY 10 of the reasons why you should never move to New York.

Seems like a glamorous life. Or seemed like a glamorous life a long time ago. Back in the days when everything was black and white, New York City was the place to be not only in the US, but the entire world! Now, it’s a has-been place that’s struggling to remain relevant.

Of course, the city of New York isn’t just downtown. It encompasses all five boroughs - Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. All share in the misery that is living in New York City proper.

There are many reasons you shouldn’t move to New York, and many reasons why New York City sucks. If you live there, you’re aware of most of these already. But you’re probably in denial as to the extent of the problem, or you’re just too stubborn to leave.

Just one rule to NYC - if you can’t afford it, your life will be hell.

Side note: the traffic in new york is from people who don’t live in new york. If you live in New York you don’t need a car

I left NY 2 years ago, been wanting to leave years before. I grew up there, leaving was the best decision even though I didn't want to leave but I had to so I could have a better life and I do now. You forgot to mention once you step foot in NY you'll feel the stress and depression energy sink in you. That's what I felt after going back to visit, I miss it but I'm not going back anytime soon and not moving back at all.

Sounds like sour grapes 🍇 to me.
I lived in NY for 46 years and I love it no matter what. You can find almost anything under the sun there and I love the bluntness of the people. They're not saying, " bless your heart, " while stabbing you in the back. Also, under that gruff exterior, beats a heart of gold. NY and NYers are very resilient and will bounce back from everything thrown at them---9/11, recession, the pandemic, inflation, whatever. I will always love NY and there's nothing you or anyone can say that will change that. I hope to be back soon.

Thank you for this. After 35+ years of living in NYC, I'm leaving. $4000 a month for a tiny one bedroom with the worst next door neighbors ever spawned by Satan. I am leaving.

I recently moved out of NYC and instead of making me feel like NYC sucks, the images just gave me so much nostalgia to my life. I'll miss the city, even if it sucks; you just get used to it.

Lived in NYC 10 years ago and really enjoyed it then. Visited for a month this summer with my kid who was on a pre-college program. My kid absolutely loved it - the food, energy, the vibe downtown where we had an apartment. I on the other hand was shocked at how grimy & dirty the city now seemed, how many vagrants seemed to be everywhere and how expensive basic stuff was - Eating out, Ubers, our apartment- compared to our home in Europe. Also there seemed to be the smell of weed everywhere we walked. I'm not sure i would opt to live there again 🤔

I decided I could never raise a family in ny when a former colleague moved to San Diego & was so much happier there. She just had a child & she said everyday life was so stressful & difficult in nyc. Even everyday tasks were challenging. Her life is so much easier now.

Nick. this video says exactly how I feel now and have felt having lived here since 2005. Back then I thought it was the place to be. Once I couldn't afford to live in Manhattan anymore (2012) I felt completed isolated from what the city was supposed to be offering. COVID killed my business and I think it was the best thing that ever happened to me because now there's no denying this place is a shithole that's only going to get shittier!. I'm out of here in June. Thanks for making such a great video!

I lived in NY in the 50's & 60's, Great place and time to grow up. The area was clean, there was a lot less people then so wait time back then was not the big issue. 5 minutes line for food or less usually. When you walked around there was no such words as smash and grab, graffiti, or car jacking, It was a beautiful different time with people whose main concern was to take care of their family.

I don’t think I’ve EVER related so much to a video. Lived there for half decade, left during the covid rise and protests. Best decision EVER.
