Wyoming is beautiful, Wyoming has a lot of freedom but I ask this. If you are thinking about moving here, don't try to change Wyoming. We like things the way they are here. Before you move here, you need to experience the summer, and keep in mind most who move here leave after experiencing a winter here. But please, don't try to change Wyoming if you move here. We love it the way that it is.

I don’t even live in Wyoming and I want people to stay out of it 😂 Seems like a really nice quiet beautiful place and even I don’t want anyone to change it

My wife and I moved here in Wyoming almost 3 years ago from Florida. We absolutely love it here. The humidity is better so when it's summer 100 degrees does not at all feel like a hundred degrees. The snow is wonderful. We love snow and the people here are friendly and generous.

I was a foreigner staying here from Malaysia, Sabah back in 2014. Wyoming has always been my first impressions of America and the American people. Sad that seeing the comments down below makes me realize America is so politically-polarized now.😔 Please don't ever change, Wyoming. Keep the friendly-cowboy hospitality alive, I wish you all well. 😊

I grew up in Wyoming but left when I matured to seek my fortune elsewhere. Now at 83 I have lived in virtually every major area of this country, but I will say that Wyoming is by far the best for many of the reasons that Briggs mentions.

Proud Texas here but I went to Wyoming and they have some of the nicest people anywhere.

Sigh Wyoming is peaceful and quiet. The quietness scares some people yet for me its heaven.

The night sky should be listed in top ten. Star gazing is simply amazing.

My wife and I moved here to Wyoming in 1978, when I joined the Highway Patrol. We raised our two girls here, and they ended up marrying two great Wyoming men and we now have four wonderful Wyoming grandchildren. Wyoming is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, but there are certain caveats to be aware of. The winters here can be brutal. I remember working accidents on I-85 when the temperature was between -30 and -60 F with winds that can get up to 50-75 mph. Make a mistake in judgement in those conditions and you might not get a second chance. Remember, we measure trips in hours, not miles, here in Wyoming. Whenever you travel across the state, just make sure you top off your tank every chance you get, 'cause some of the roads are desolate enough that if you get stuck or stranded out in the middle of nowhere, and we've got a whole bunch of nowhere here, it may be a while before anyone, and I mean anyone, comes by. Fortunately, most folks here will stop and help, but they can be few and far between. If you are thinking about moving to Wyoming, spend a little time thinking about why. Is it because you hate where you now live? That's a perfect formula for failure. Come here because you love it here more than you love where you're at. Seems like a small difference, but it's critical. Take a vacation through Wyoming in the summer, spend a couple weeks just driving around our great state, meet the people, smell the fresh air and, most of all. get out of your vehicle now and then and take a nice peaceful walk up in the mountains, or even on the plains. One more thing: just to seal the deal; come visit us in late December or January for a couple of weeks and get a taste of the cold, the snow and the wind. If that experience doesn't put you off, then you may love it here. Remember, many folks who move here end up leaving after their first winter.

I've been hoping to move back to Wyoming. As a high school grad, I couldn't wait to get out of "boring" Wyoming. Now, as I've aged ( fifty+ now), I have a longing to get back there, especially after all the covid craziness and the degradation of city life and the garbage of most school systems!

Originally from New England, I spent twenty two years in Wyoming. If you can deal with winters that begin in September and not ending till May, reaching -30 below at times, 20 below is not uncommon, go for it. Most of Wyoming is arid and inhospitable. There are very real reasons Wyoming is so sparsely populated. Do all you can think of to lose any romantic bias you may have developed. Be warned.

My husband speaks about childhood memories from Encampment Wyoming. It's like watching someone reminisce about the great love of their life.

I hope Wyoming doesn't become another Colorado or Oregon. I know it's already happened to the Jackson area, but still.

The cost of living is low - except for the Jackson area. Millionaires can’t afford to live in Jackson Hole anymore, because the billionaires bought all the real estate and ran up the prices.
