Above the Ghost Nebula, Darth Vader oversees an autopsy of the native humanoids. This was simply a scare tactic for Lady Saro, if she doesn’t tell them where to find Tarkin’s son, she would be next on the autopsy table. Vader thinks their species is remarkable, they had no hearts. Saro tells them that they actually have thousands of hearts throughout their body, making them physically stronger than humans. They also bleed to death quicker, Vader commands her to tell him where she learned basic or he will rip out each of her hearts and crush them between his fingers.

She couldn’t understand them at first, so she prayed to the 29 gods to give her the power to bring peace. Her people captured an imperial and she swallowed his tongue, giving her the ability to understand and speak basic. She confessed to the murder of a stormtrooper, Vader should execute her where she stands. Saro doesn’t back down, she would go to greater extremes than murder to protect her people. She would tell the dark lord for a price. The Empire would need to make her queen of the Ghost Nebula.

Vader could force her to talk but she would lie, leading them on a wild bantha chase. Captain Shale thinks her demands are reasonable, the Empire has made Moff’s out of lesser men. Vader goes for the classic force choke, this was his command. Shale tell him it would be his last command if he fails to find Tarkin’s son. Vader knows there is truth to this, he will meditate on it.
