I started having chest pains that went down my left shoulder and upper arm when I was walking or bending over for weeks.
I went to the ER. They did a battery of tests including stress test and imaging. All were negative for heart issues. I was sent home. I believed it was acid reflux. I went to my primary care who was convinced I had coronary issues. I was unable to get into a cardiologist for 6 weeks or more.
The pains continued to increase in intensity and frequency until finally I went back to the ER where a cath was scheduled for the next day.
I am typing this from my hospital bed awaiting bypass surgery tomorrow morning.
I feel that I dodged a bullet and am lucky to be alive.

I’ve had literally all of these symptoms for quite a while, plus a lot of nausea and stuff, and though I’ve had chest/back pains here and there for a while, last night it got so bad, my legs became numb, I couldn’t walk anymore, my whole nody was tingling, especially my face and arms, I had the worst chest/back pain as well as bith my arms and abdomen, and I suddenly felt terrified and started panicking. I felt like I was dying. Bystanders called 911, but the 911-operator literally yelled at us and told us not to waste their time, that it was just a panic attack. I (a nurse who has worked in a cardiac ward for 2 years, has several big risk factors and is going to medical school) insisted someone come to check it out.

She sent a nurse, which would be fine, but yhis nurse looked like he knew absolutely shit. He didn’t know what my medications did and I had to repeat myself several times saying what it was and why I have it etc. He also didn’t know what PCOS was, didn’t listen when I talked about my medical history, didn’t listen to me when I was talking abkut my symptoms today or over the past few months and stuff, mostly the last month, and didn’t check anything except my heartrate. ‘It’s a little high, but you’re just having a panic attack so it’s normal’.

I was too afraid to talk back to him but I am 99.9% certain I had a heartattack last night.

I’m gonna call my GP in the morning when they open againx but I absolutely hate that bith of them completely dismissed it as a panic attack and didn’t listen to a thing I was saying

I've never experienced a proper heart attack, but I did have what I thought was a severe heart attack whilst on the bus. Fortunately, it was just stress and it passed.

I had a cardiac work up 6mos ago and still feel bad with chest pain. The dr says my tests came back good and he doubts very much if my chest pain is heart related. He suggested and prescribed for me pepcid.
