In this video we'll go through 7 important heart attack signs and symptoms to never ignore. As picking up these early signs of a heart attack can help save a life. Often if you ask people - chest pain comes up as the top symptoms - but it may also surprise you that some people may never get chest pain! Especially if they are diabetic and sometimes women tend to have slightly more vague symptoms.

When we have a heart attack (myocardial infarction), the blood supply to our heart suddenly stops. This could be down to a number of reasons. But what this causes is damage to the heart muscle. It is vital to get medical help urgently and to look out for signs and symptoms so that precious time is not wasted. Time is muscle, the more time is wasted, the more muscle in the heart can die!

Here are the 7 signs and symptoms of a heart attack that you should never ignore.
1) Chest Pains - chest pain or discomfort is the most common symptom people get.
- It can be described as “feels like pressure”, squeezing or heaviness in the chest. It can also feel like indigestion or a burning sensation.

2) Nausea and vomiting - This is caused by a phenomenon called cardiogenic nausea or vomiting,

3) Sweatiness/clamminess - when your heart muscle is dying, it may not be able to pump blood adequately. Remember we are alive and walking because we have constant blood pressure supplying our body and brain. If this blood pressure suddenly drops - not enough blood can get to the brain and we can feel lightheaded and dizzy.

4) Dizziness or feeling lightheaded - Some theories suggest it could be down to the stimulation of part of your nervous system, called you sympathetic nervous system. This is your fight or flight response.

5) Pains in other areas (arms/jaw/neck/back) - during a myocardial infarction it can feel as if the pain is spreading from your chest to your arms (usually the left arm, but it can affect both arms), jaw, neck, back and tummy.

6) Shortness of breath - Your heart pumps blood so it can circulate to your tissues as well as get oxygen from your lungs. If your heart can’t pump blood well (as is the case with a heart attack), you can feel short of breath.

7) Overwhelming feeling of anxiety/panic - Physically a panic attack and a heart attack may be very similar.

38 years old now. Two years ago I had a mild heart attack that I definitely didn't know what was going on. There was no pain. I did however become very sweaty and was so dizzy and sick to my stomach that I didn't think I was or could make it right next door to my sister's house to see what she thought. My nurse sister put her blood pressure cuff on me and couldn't call 911 fast enough when she seen the reading. Anyhow I just want you all to know that I was gonna go back to sleep because I thought I was just sick with food poison or covid. I had no idea had I gone to sleep or laid back down I wouldn't be here today.

Subtle, mine started with mental fog and feeling "odd", later, days later it was fatigue, then jaw pain. After a Stent I felt fine, but my heart is scarred. Thank you for the video. (I wish that there was a to detect a problem before damage occurs.)

I had a cardiopulmonary arrest, after surgery. That was in 1989. It changed my live forever! I won't kill a flea, on purpose. The thought of it feeling the pain that I experienced, is too much.
I stopped watching news and murder on TV, because people don't realize that, what goes around, comes around.
Sorry for rambling, but I'm still traumatized!
Thanks for your video, when I experience some of these symptoms,
I take naturals. I am so thankful that I was allowed to be revived and live this long.
You must be in a place with thorough and caring care! I don't! I have had four medical malpractices and unconsenting experiments with no apologies and no compensation.
As a matter of fact, the cardiopulmonary arrest was a result of
malpractice! I had to let go or die from bitterness.
Thanks again for posting! Every amount of knowledge helps!

I had left arm pain the day before for an hour or so and then it came back the day of the MI and I was sweating. Never a hint of chest pain or discomfort. Had a 3 month prior history of excessive belching, so I was misdiagnosed with reflux and anxiety up until the MI. Got a stent and funny enough I have been experiencing daily left arm discomfort ever since and now I actually have acid reflux and anxiety. This has been going on for 2 years now. Cardiologist is completely dismissing it as being heart related just because my bi-annual stress tests and echo's are fine and won't refer me for a coronary contrast CT just to make sure because of those two tests not showing abnormalities.

I had to be taken by ambulance for what i thought was a heart attack, and that was a little embarrassing, but as time went on, my blood-cousin had the exact symptoms a few years later after being out riding quads and having fun. He expressed symtoms of heartburn/GURD, decided to take a shower, and collapsed when he got out. He was found by his wife and daughter after it was too late, and my Other cosuin was the principal first responder on scene 😢. He was a wonderful guy, served in the U.S. Army, retired and spent his spare time beautifying the little town in PA where he was born and raised. He'd be around if he took his meds, but some people get those garbage-side effects and it hinders an otherwise active lifestyle. It's a quandary, for sure. But make sure your family and the ones you care about take thier meds; they have the right to refuse, of course. But planning funerals is awful, too. ❤

I’m currently wearing a heart monitor. I’m having chest pains, palpitations, nausea, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, and blurred vision. I will be wearing the monitor a few more days. Unfortunately, my follow up appointment is mid February!😬
