I just got into building my pc and I was looking for a pc case that will take advantage of my motherboard's usb 3.2 gen 2 headers... which technically USB C GEN 2??
this is all so confusing. WTF.
why are they overcomplicating the naming????

But how did it become the standard? Govt/business preference on purchase? How did the competitors not try to make their own different model...you know, to reduce the universal part? Is usb a company or industry standard? If the latter, which company/govt sponsored it to allow it to become a standard (the US dollar is not a standard because people prefer it, its because govt requires it; bitcoin is not a standard, it's there with dozens of other crypto and digital currencies)? Thank you.
