I'd love if USB D or E ends up being something crazy like a barrel connector that carries ac and has a pair of fiber-optic for longer cables to be possible

I remember reading somewhere that type-C is supposed to be future proof but we'll

Can't forget about backwards compatible Micro B 3.0: the hardest possible thing to plug in the dark!

Type C is my favorite, but between micro B and mini B, I actually prefer mini B... easier to tell which way to plug it in and to get it in!

Just living to see every generation of USB makes me feel old.

I literally hissed IRL at the micro USB

I always felt like mini b was more reliable, but I think that's just because I use it so much less, it doesn't get a chance to wear out.

mini b is probably my favorite. Type C is good, but over time it easily disconnects. Micro b is horrendous and always wears out. I've found mini b to be the sturdiest out of all of them.

Let's not forget the beast of a charger no one liked for the galaxy S5/4 micro B fast charger

I've been having concepts on paper of a USB cable that's a circle so you can spin it around and not worry about the port breaking

As far as charging cables go, I like the mini. It just seems more robust

The mini B is widely popular in Chinese products in the past such as tablets, photo frame, mp3 players, bluetooth speakers etc
The contrast of the mini B is that it gets loose easily overtime

C is pretty cool but one thing I don’t like is that the tab in the middle of the socket makes it very hard to clean, especially if it is on a phone where dust and lint gets into the port.

Type A was a host type connection and came in 1995. Type B is for peripherals and came out in 1996. For 1 year we were plugging in the cable to our PC and just having wires hanging and not connected to anything. It was a marketing masterpiece.
