That has been known for centuries, our ancestors always used to say, “ eat your sweets, breads, fruits, AFTER your meal.

Then get up and take a walk after meals and have an even bigger effect on insulin response

Those studies you quote were paid for by big pharma. I will continue to eat FAT and meat with my carbs. My blood sugar used to be 2O.6 after a 24 hour dry fast and when I woke up today my blood sugar was down to 5.7 (x by 18 for us numbers). I also eat 1/2 teaspoon of ground mustard, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, curry, and ginger per day along with a tablespoon of ground methi, and ground flax per day along with other things.

I guess there is a study for pretty much every scenario out there. I would just try to figure out what is giving me best results and stick with it.

This is how I justify eating M&M’s. I eat Peanut M&M’s. 😆

What does that mean “before?” Does it mean eat it protein/fat before carbs in the same meal or eat protein/fat then eat carbs 30mins or so later?

The point of eating sugar is that it enters easily in the circulatory system. If you are diabetic, just reduce the sugar intake but making the sugar more difficult to enter the system is going to degenerate the stomach and intestines due to fermentarions and carboprotein binding

Thank you for sharing. Will start eating my carbs with protein. Trying to maintain my weight at 130. Had gallbladder removed in October. Trying to do a low, to moderate, fat diet, low carbs, and more protein anyway. I'm a woman over 60. I really don't want to live on supplements. I'd rather eat and get a little enjoyment from food. May start taking Bile Salts though along with my food.

I basically learned that - but in terms of effect, not biochemistry - in a book for carb addicts (I forget the name). It basically said that if you ate equal parts protein, low-carb veg & carbs in a meal, or the protein & veg first, the carbs would NOT cause cravings for more. And I found that to always be true, whereas if I ate carbs first or alone, I would be craving carbs for the rest of the day!
And so whenever I wanted to eat some carbs at home, I would always have at least some protein first. Away from home, however, was another story & ultimately my downfall, lol.

It was always a practice for me to have proteins with carbs having a better workout and utilizing effects to help the use of proteins.

Thanks for the advice! A tip I'd like to add is to also consume fiber &/or probiotics before high carb meals if you have no bad reaction to any of them

Got it, eat protein before carbs, but prior to how long? Right before carbs? 5 minutes? 30 minutes?

OK!! I have been doing this for the past... almost 2 months now as a personal experiment on my self adding in exogenies ketones with it and have noticed/experienced maintenance of weight with out the exogenies ketones, with (if at night doing protein with carbs not after 8pm or during the day same idea) have noticed body fat (not weight) reduction. Added with IF and i could go on and on. But this works. (Hope that made sense! ) This is all with light to moderate exercise. IE: with weights.
