Got mine a couple of weeks ago and have been in love with it ever since! Game changer when it comes to quality and speed. Also the ease of use is ridiculous haha

Perhaps "first impressions" would have been a better title -- it seems premature to do a review after a single test print.

Be careful with cardboard spools, people seem to be having problems with them on the AMS and printing some protective rings to not have the cardboard slowly self destruct. Can't say this from personal experience, but I've researched quite a bit in advance since I'll get my combo in a couple of weeks, and it's something I thought might be good to know : )

I tried printing two different materials (PLA an PETG) It doesn't want you to use different materials with vastly different temperatures because it could jam / clog the hot end nozzle.

Glue stick acts as a release agent. Without it the material would bond itself to the bed and would be very hard to release.

Bambu sells a textured PEI bed that requires no glue and releases parts easily after cooling, I’d check that out

Check the slicer settings on the Ender 3 Pro. I have a few of them running and get much better quality than you displayed.

I have been using an Ender 3 Pro for 4 months now and I am able to get the same print quality as the X1, I just sacrifice my time. I am now looking into buying the X1 and am excited to see how much time this will save! Great video, thank you!

Thanks. Great newbie video for set up. I hope you do more videos of this printer.

Why do you have to use the apps if you are just in front of the display?

All my accessories were boxed inside the printer along with partial filament roll completely different. They must be making changes on these initial runs. Or has to do with fitting AMS inside during shipping.

I missed out on the kick starter too! I just pre-ordered a carbon x1 combo. It should be back in stock in a few weeks. Can't wait to get mine. Thanks for the review!

From what I understand, it should be okay to mix different types of filament plastics together within the AMS, but you may run into some issues while you are printing as certain materials may not want to stick together if you are doing multi material printing.

"Built-it-AI"? how does it improve output? Can it be modified?

Your comparison seems a tad bit unfair. The boat on the right looks like it was printed with intentionally bad settings (high print speed, high top / bottom size, low count of top/bottom layers, NO supports, etc.). One could print a boat with an Ender 3 V2 that looks very much like the orange one on the left with the right settings. That being said I'm still pretty impressed with the X1's speed.

Great video! What are the total dimensions of the unit + ams on top? Is it possible to put the AMS to the side instead?

I own 2 of the BL XL-1 carbon's with AMS love my units one issue is using PA-CF carbon filament from BL don't use the AMS but I use an external feeder that is heated to dry the filament. The reason why you don't want to use your AMS or using the external roll supporter is PA-CF has to be very dry another is abrasive materials such as carbon and other filaments will damage the tiny holes you feed your material through AMS. The other with carbon filament you need to make sure you extract the filament after each use otherwise the custom extruder will get clogged and nearly impossible to remove. I would order additional harden heads but I also ordered the ones that come with the fan and the thermistor already setup because because it's a pain in the butt to assemble the complete unit where it's just a few wires to reconnect on the other. This is just a heads up.
