I had a introvert crush. We sat next to each other in school, he never talked to anyone, and made signs if he needed to answer something... He was mute. Anyway thought maybe it was a good idea to talk with him anyway. But talk about things he don't needed to answer. And so he would smile at me sometimes, or make a little sign with his hands or head... One day I asked him if he had saw my water bottle, because I couldn't find it. And he goes "Did you look in your locker?" [No, he wasn't mute, he had selective mutism.] But kept the surprise for inside and said "I don't. I'm going to check" I thought he was mute for 6 bloody months. He didn't said a word in 6 months. But he listened carefully everything I said. Because the rest of the people felt uncomfortable talking with someone who can't answer so I was the only one that talked to him. I kept talking even sometimes he would't respond neither make a sign. Just kept trying. Not being a pain in the ass, but treating him as I did with everybody else. Anyway, he started to speak more and more often not only with me but with everybody in the classroom. A real work, with ups and downs, but steel satisfying. After 2 years we started dating 💙. Listen... Its hard to make an introvert talk but they always listen more carefully. Don't push them to talk so hard, but keep talking nicely 🤗. (I speak Spanish so excuse me if there's a mistake ^^ )

One of my best friends is very introverted. We've been friends for over a year and I am still the one initiating conversation. My advice is to ask him questions but don't attack him with questions. Try not to say anything for 3 to 10 seconds after you ask a question so he has time to think about a response. I've also found that my friend will usually answer questions but almost never asks me any. If I ask how his day was he'll tell me but he won't ask how mine was. He expects me to tell him how my day was as a response to him telling me about his day. To initiate a first conversation you could ask him what he thinks of something that happened during youth group.

Funny story I am actually an introvert and there is an extrovert guy that has a crush on me and he was very straightforward by giving me his number and writing a love note that he put in my locker. The best way to approach an introvert is to take things slow by seeing what you have in common so the introvert isn’t shy to voice what she/he thinks and don’t be too straightforward so fast.
