NATO sends ships, planes to eastern Europe as Ukraine conflict heats up | DW News

NATO allies have put forces on standby and sent ships and fighter jets to bolster Europe's eastern defences. The European Union says it is ready to impose "never-seen-before" economic sanctions if Russia invades.
In Brussels, EU foreign ministers want to double assistance to Ukraine with a 1.2 billion euro package. The group is also holding talks via video with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Around 100,000 Russian troops have amassed at Ukraine's borders over recent months; the Kremlin denies plans of an invasion.

People around me never took this matter seriously, mostly thought that this conflict is far from their home. But they forgetting the player in this 'big game', they could actually starts WW3 and destructions far away from the epicenter. Hope this conflict to cools down.

Oh man I’m from Russia. In every family we have fallen in WWII. My grandmother saw how her 5yo brother died from a hunger during the war.

the real problem as I see — the hugest military budget in human history. And some very talented, well educated and influential men use ALL their talents to search / create threats 24/7. Or on the next year they just didnt get more money on military spendings

In fact when Putin came to power he tried to make Russia part of NATO twice. And Twice he’s got rejection.

Does it mean that NATO is anti Russian alliance?

And does it mean that Putin really cares about safety in the world?

As a human being I stand with humans. If you care about your family, think that other people on the other side of the boarder have the same live for their family. Wonder if Germany is looking at Nord Stream as a liability right about now ... imagine being reliant for energy on the nation you're about to fight, and you just cut your own nuts off by closing down all the nuclear plants. OOPS. Neither national security, nor environmental sustainability. If war breaks out, this could get really nasty.
