Ukraine crisis: Nato putting forces on standby in eastern Europe

Nato is putting forces on standby and sending fighter jets and ships to eastern Europe, insisting the alliance will "always do what is necessary to protect and defend all our allies".

Britain has joined the US in withdrawing some staff from the embassy in Kyiv, amid fears that Russia is poised to invade - which Moscow still denies, accusing the West of provocation.

the real problem as I see — the hugest military budget in human history. And some very talented, well educated and influential men use ALL their talents to search / create threats 24/7. Or on the next year they just didnt get more money on military spendings

This is very reminiscent of the Sudetenland and Poland in WW2. We saw what appeasement did. If Europe had acted earlier against Hitler it would have saved a lot of lives. Those on mainland Europe will have no security if Putin gets away with this.
