Why make a video about this when they explained it all in the episode

Dunno how it will be dividing them tho, I get the impression that as long as it isn't cercei, jon doesn't give 2 shits about who sits on those swords.

Actually by right of conquest, neither Dany nor Jon have any claim to the Iron Throne. The Baratheons had it at the start of the series, and when Stannis died (you can even argue when he lost at the Blackwater) the Lannisters became the royal family.

Thank you for explaining this. It really needed a lot of clarification. Especially the part when Bran says Jon has the true claim to the iron throne. Really complex stuff, but thanks to you, we no long need to be confused.

funny thing is, none of the living Targaryens have any "birthright" claims to the throne anymore. The line of succession after Aerys the Mad King means nothing now because the title was usurped from the Targaryen dynasty through conquest (Robert's Rebelion). So now it doesnt matter who was first in the line of succession, because if you're a Targaryen and want your daddy's throne back, you're gonna have to fight for it, even if it means going against your own kinsman/kinswoman.

Have you all forgotten the fact that he's already pledged himself to Dany? Even if he didn't know it, he lost his "rightful" claim to the throne when he bent the knee.

What??? How did no one know this. Thank you once again IGN. Saved us all.

Jon bent the knee to her, swearing her his service. Even though he's the biological son of Rhaegar, he'd keep his word to serve her has his queen. Beside, I doubt he'd even want the Iron Throne.

"No long" what is this, what does this mean? I studied these two words for 84 years yet I never got closer to the answer.

jon bent the knee to danny, so he lost the right to the throne

It really seems that everybody just kind of forgot that you give up all claims when you take your Night's Watch vows.

Plus jon said he doesn't want the iron throne and he is a honourable man.

How will anyone except maybe Sansa, Arya, and Sam gonna believe Bran when he says Jon is the heir? I know this is fantasy, but there needs to be pretty compelling proof.

Neither of them do. When Robert took the throne from the mad king the Targaryen claim was over and the Baratheon claim started.

The throne would then pass to Gendry as he is the legitimate son, if not the throne should've been passed to Stannis as his 'children' with Cerci were non legitimate. When Robert died his rule lived on due to his name, not his blood.

When Cerci's children died the Lannister now hold the claim to the throne, hence how Cerci is the queen and it will pass to her child if it's born.

Danny & Jon have no claim to the throne.

Don't think he's gonna want the iron throne, he's probably just gonna want to stay king of the north
