Still did her dirty in the show. If all they had was one season, they should've not made her go mad. Instead, it looked like people wanted her dead because she was depressed after losing family and friends in a very short time, and no one helped her.

It’s weird how nobody (in the show) talks about how Robert was crowned king not just because he killed Rhaegar, but because even if everyone who died/was exiled in the rebellion died of natural causes, he’d still have been the heir and become king.

Robert’s “Targaryen ancestry” was never a real reason why he became king, he took the Iron Throne by force, the ancestry thing was just a flimsy justification they threw in after the fact to try & appease the remaining Targaryen loyalists. If Ned Stark or Jon Arryn decided that they wanted to be king during the rebellion they would have been, regardless of any supposed blood of the dragon.
