Mr. Doucette i got a tear in my eye from your lovely words, even though it could be some spit that you accidentaly throw while talking. please never stop, only since i watch you i stopped with my fasting bullshit, my obsession with the scale. i try to look better, but as a human being, not a super hero. and when my mother offers me some heartmade food or my gf a cake, i know the calories, but their love is so much more important than that .01% increase in bodyfat. i try to be the best me, not the best anyone can be. these are your words and they have helped me so much!
thank you!

Told myself I wasn’t gonna eat after 7pm, literally just put my hand in a bag of Reese’s puffs grabbed a handful and let go and walked away. Super proud of myself real talk

Coach Greg with the truest and healthiest body positivity message I’ve ever heard :] loving yourself (at any size) comes first. Fitness comes second.

The book "Brain Over Binge" by Kathryn Hansen was an eye-opener for me. She explains that the lower brain that tells us to binge has no concept of long term goals like the higher, logical brain. This is why we feel crazy...we don't want to binge, so why do we keep doing it? Because our brain is fighting with itself.

It's taken me 10 years of struggling with eating disorders / having disordered mindset to learn how to emotionally disconnect myself from food. My relationship with food has been through it: starving myself, punishing myself, binging, purging, skipping meals, rewarding myself with food, trying "intuitive eating" when I didn't know how to disconnect myself from food. It wasn't until recently that the pieces have truly fallen into place for me, and I'm angry at the amount of misinformation thay has continued to hold me (because there have been moments when I have been ready for lasting change but I did not hear the right messages). This video may seem harsh to some, but the messaging is powerful. Food is not punishment, food is not a reward. It has no morality and does not serve as a reflection to your inner/outer self. Food is just something you eat- chemicals. It can be cultural, and it can be fun, but my relationship to myself has to be more important than my "relationship to food". Learning how to disconnect myself from this, by breathing it out and forgiving myself, is the final step of me having this huge weight keep me out of balance. Thank you so much, to you and the incredible sensible other youtubers who aren't lying about what food is, how bodies work, and saying we deserve to love ourselves and make ourselves feel healthier and better regardless of all the bullshit our brains and external environments put us through.

There needs to be more awareness for eating disorders in sports. If you have one, you’re not alone! Dm me if you need an ear to listen

Absolutely agree with all of this. I’ve been 128lbs and went back up to 150lbs and was unhappy and self-conscious at both weights. You really have to get to the bottom of it and truly love yourself and gain confidence.

Meditation is a lifesaver. Once I started clearing my mind and putting less stress on myself, it’s easier to stop seeing food as a fix to your stress and anxiety

The past year I almost completely came over my eating disorder, however quarantine has got me back to just as bad as before. The good news is since I have more muscle I haven’t gained too much weight, but I still have a long way to go

Greg, I’m really liking the soft side you’re showing in this one. You are universally capable of soft content and it’s good to see from the People’s doctor. Keep this shit up !
