Pink Floyd is one of the few bands with a truly massive staying power. Founded in 1965, people of all ages are still listening to their music today. Originally influences by music hall and blues sounds, the band later pivoted to psychedelic rock thanks to founding member Syd Barrett, whose tenure with the group was highly influential but brief.

Pink Floyd's run essentially ended in 1983, though founder Roger Waters continued as a solo artist while the other members of the band released two more albums as Pink Floyd in the '80s and '90s. Though their life as a band has been troubled in numerous ways, their impact can't be denied. Here's the untold truth of Pink Floyd.

Syd is a pioneer of psychedelic music and needs more recognition as one.

As a stoner, this is the best music for a group partaking in mother nature together, none better

My son born 1991 borrowed my dark side of the moon when he was 12. I never got it back. Never been more proud of my boy 😊❤️

I already knew most of this. That's fine. But, if you get your information from already existing sources, how is it the "untold" truth?

Back in the 90s, I collected animation cels from a gallery that specialized in the sale of them. My prize possession is an original production cel from the trial sequence in 'The Wall'. I paid $895.00 for it in 1996. It's matted & framed & hanging behind me, over my sofa. It's a shot of the teacher, raising his cane over his as Roger's singing bleeding hearts an artist..."

There is no dark side of the moon, really. It's all dark.

Actual untold truth: The last Barrett album is called "Opel" which is a reference to a stone particularly known for its visual effect when light passes through it.
Opel was vetoed by Pink Floyd and released many years later and almost forgotten.
I never seen people talking about it.

GenX'ers will never know what they missed out on regarding Pink Floyd, in fact GenX'ers missed out on the best era for rock and roll and soul from 64-75

I have watched "The Wizard of Oz" to the soundtrack of Dark Side of the Moon. It definitely goes together. I just think its synchronicity!!!! Pink Floyd didn't do it on purpose. It just happened!!💜💜💜💜
