My wife is black. When she was pregnant, she insisted on a black female OBGYN not because she was against non-black doctors but because she was high risk and because of the higher rate of maternal mortality amongst black women. She wanted a doctor who would listen to her concerns.

It’s happened to me as an ER attending and ad a primary care. Even further I’m Haitian and once there was a Haitian patient who expressed they wanted a doctor from another culture. But I also have had patients who were so glad they have a black doctor because believe it or not, there are not that many of us out there!

Sorry you were hurt by that hatefulness Dr… But as for me, I always expect Caucasian people to be mean upon encountering them initially; so when they’re kind and respectful I’m left surprised. I’m never surprised by the hatefulness and ugliness. As for that Black person; sadly some of us are idolaters of Caucasian people just because they’re Caucasian.

Sorry to hear that Doctor you definitely didn't deserve that you're brilliant Doctor. I learned a long time ago some people are just mean, that's why I don't deal with a lot of people. You have to because of your job that's okay you established your career you do excellent job. Love you Doctor. Also a lot of people love you.

I've once watched a video from Dr Karan (a doctor from UK who came from an Hindi family) talking about a patient who refused to be checked by him and asked a white Dr. to see them. It's a stupid, disrespectful and disgusting idea for a person to request a white, cis, hetero, christian yadda yadda yadda person for healthcare help! It's even worse when it's an emergency situation, ridiculous!
But I'm happy to know that you have nice patients that make your professional life more worthy and happy. I'm sure that you make your patients days better too.
