I got T-Mobile a couple weeks ago and brought it with me in my RV and cap about 100 miles away from home. It worked great, no configuration just plug in the power and a few minutes later lightning speed. I will be traveling to another direction about q00 miles away and try it there and see how it works. It was $30 a month and I was able to talk them in giving me a $150 rebate card which brings the price down to $20 a month for 15 months.

I have heard mixed stories where T-Mobile worked for some and others were shutoff after a while because they were using it while traveling. I have T-mobile and I am away from my home base and it works great. I get about what you did with it speed wise.

I'm trying the T-Mo right now. The sales person said you cited take it with you when you travel. Is writing fine at home.

I didi the samething last night with the straight talk service. My address didn't qualify, so I picked an address about 80 miles away. Took about 10 minutes for the router to sync up and I am getting speeds of 150-170 Mbps

I heard while both can work away from home base, Verizon throttles the speed if you are away from the home address. Maybe that's why your Verizon is much slower than Tmobile in that location.

Keep in mind that T-Mobile Gateway is unlimited data and that Verizon may be $5 cheaper per month it does have a limit cap on data.

I'm curious: if you pick a random address, how did you receive the device? Or, for that matter, wouldn't your billing information be sent to the random address?

fyi - you can get a t mobile gateway with external antenna connectors. with an external antenna you could probably get reliable service at your house by pointing it towards the closest tower

it was great while it lasted, but the party will be mostly over. I mean you can still do it if you want to pay 160$. least for the Tmobile version.
