The most important question: Is blood bending easier with the full moon?

Remember. Before electric light, the easiest way to get around at night was to wait until the full moon. Hence why certain cultures plant/harvest based on lunar cycle. It's much more pleasant to do field work on a cool, moonlit, night vs on a hot summer afternoon. So we have developed a propensity to be more active during full moons.

"[The moon] is a cosmic flashlight" might be the second best simile for a celestial body lol, #1 of course is "The Sun is a deadly lazer"

Hank's definition of moonlight: "A cosmic flashlight shining in your window". Another classic.

When I'm menstruating, I like to use the expression, "I'm turning into a werewolf." Since seems to happen during the full moon more often than not. Even if the moon doesn't actually influence my body in that way, it usually is a good indicator of when I need to buy "werewolf protection".

I love how the topics just get more and more random as time goes by.

The whole 'epilepsy and moon' thing also appears in the ancient Mesopotamian material, in which the moon-god Nannar-Su'en is considered to be the ruler over epilepsy. When he's in his full light, the epilepsy-demon is not around as much.

Pretty cool that that seems to be confirmed by modern science! 😎 Ancient people weren't as stupid as many think

The scorpion's ability to glow, sense their own glow, and hide when glowing brightly, may aid in avoiding nocturnal predators that can see UV light - snakes, desert iguanas, tarantulas, rodents, bats, other scorpions...

In my Nursing career I saw more patients pass away on full moon nights than any other moon formations. Anytime we had someone transfered to palliative care we always asked "is it a full moon", it was not being insensitive, it was to schedule a nurse to sit with the patient on Palliative care 24-7. It was not a wanted situation. But a known statistical occurance.

Regarding point one, I just recently wondered about full-moon related insomnia as my kid woke up at 2AM wanting to play.
I have I hypothesis - maybe full moon reflects not only visible light but also shorter wavelenghts such as UV? Maybe the excess of UV radiation during the night (most of our UV comes from the sun, so our bodies read UV - day, no UV - night) somehow messes up the synthesis of melatonin or just breaks our circadian rythm? That is actually a quite an interesting topic :)
