Am I the only one who actually felt kinda bad for Smiling Critters? Their voices in their cutouts sound so broken and sad, and it kinda made me feel a lot of empathy for these guys.

Funny how they say it’s “too gruesome” to let mommy long legs get grinded head first… but dog day getting eating inside out is WAYYY more gruesome than this 😭

I have a more tragic theory regarding Hoppy Hopscotch's death...
Once things went sour, Hoppy Hopscotch jumped to her death on purpose and was persuading someone else to jump with her, hence her anger at them looking down. Based on the 2 failures before Hoppy's scream, it was VERY hard to fully commit to her choice. She made it a game, "Jumping to the moon", to help ease her and her accomplice(s) into going for it. Her trademark impatience then quite literally led to her downfall.

The way I interpret Hoppy Hopscotch’s voice lines is that she and at least one of the other toys tried escaping. The moon is an impossible goal to get to, sorta like the escape of the building, but while Hoppy and this other toy are trying to escape, they need to cross some sort of gap because they were being chased or something, and Hoppy made it, but the other toy was scared to jump, hence the “don’t look at your feet, none of that matters now!” since there was something chasing them. Because of the hesitation of the other toy, both of them end up being killed while Hoppy is pleading for the other toy to jump.

Something I really like about Poppy Playtime is the voice acting. The voice actors tried so hard and really put themselves in the characters' shoes, which makes everything so incredibly realistic and deep.

Hearing Dog Days screams after knowing it was during his legs being cut off got me shedding a few tears.. it was HORRENDOUS!!

So, a few things I noticed:

1, Some of the smiling critters cutouts don’t end with screams. The ones without screams are PickyPiggy, and BobbyBearhug. Coincidentally, these two appeared in the end credits for the smiling critters animation alongside DogDay, indicating there’s a good chance these two are still alive.

2, PickyPiggy’s dialogue has the implication that she ate BubbaElephant, KickinChicken, and Craftycorn, which could explain why we don’t see any if them present in chapter 3

“•Crafty Corn was most likely alone, drawing warning signs all around the facility while going slowly insane due to being alone for so long and so in the cutout when she ask for more red she gets hostile to herself thinking that she was talking to the other smiling critters and uses her own blood as "red paint" until she slowly dies from blood loss.”

Bobby Bearhug's last line made me cry real, actual, genuine tears. God damn it this game never ceases to amaze me

Dogday's death is what makes his last voice line one of the most disturbing yet brutal to be heard.
What's even worse that we can also hear his legs getting cut off and falling to the ground, so that explains about how disturbing and brutal it is.

My thoughts about the Smiling Critters:

CraftyCorn: Well she says that she needs some red, That could lead to her finding BobbyBearhug's body, usually using her blood/skin colour to get some red.

Kick'inChicken: I thought that he got killed by the Prototype or fell, What could be real is that CatNap was hiding behind the door and killed Kick'inChicken After.

BubbaBubbaphant: Its obvious, He inhaled red smoke and died to CatNap

DogDay: Why do i need to say this.

BobbyBearhug: She was locked in a room, Probably by CatNap or the annoyed Smiling Critters.

Hoppy Hopscotch: She fell and didnt look where her/his was going then died

Picky Piggy: Ate the Smiling Critter's Bodies and later Starving to death.

CatNap: Went Feral and Died to the Prototype

I believe that picky piggy was abandoned because of her cannibalistic ways, leading to her death. I also think that Bobby bear hug was with dog day, and dog day is telling Bobby to leave whilst he sacrificed himself and got chained up. I think crafty corn was so bored and went insane so she started using her own blood as ‘red’ and is talking to herself, killing her self because she dosent have enough blood

I genuinely hope we get more of the smiling critters! Their designs are so creative and the concept as well is so well done! Maybe one day we can find Bobby Bearhug or get confirmation on how each of them died through a vhs tape
