TBH Firefox had picture in picture mode for ages

I think generally Arc is draining a lot of battery - something that users have been complaining about. Then on Reddit whenever you bring something up like that, you'd get roasted on how they say Arc is a company with 50 people, don't compare it with well-established organizations all that bs.

I've been using Arc for over a year after using Vivaldi. I honestly can't recommend it enough - I tried to switch back to other browsers at first because it's so different, but I always ended up coming back 😄

Even with the polished UI of Arc, I'm still sticking to Vivaldi for its amazing customizability. Yes, it can feel clunky sometimes, but I had no issues with websites, chrome extensions work out of the box and you can switch between horizontal and vertical tabs on the fly. Love Vivaldi!

I will say one thing about the vertical sidebar, you can hide it (there's a shortcut but I have a custom one set so idk the default one).

You can check it by going into settings

Don’t know if you know this but vertical display is something on edge as well🙂

One thing I found funny was that Microsoft Edge has a lot of the core features of Arc and more without the extra fluff, such as vertical tabs, picture-in-picture, access to Chrome extensions, tracker blocking, sidebar apps, AI, and a lot more. It's light on memory also, and comparing the vertical tabs experience to Arc browser, it's almost identical. Arc seems unnecessary as most of the extra features can be easily replicated with extensions.

Feels like he's not a power user of any other browser, it's all magic to him. Bro, you can do all of it in chrome. The only thing that I like about arc is ctrl+tab to switch between tab and auto hide the tabs bar. But tbh I like the group feature of chrome more than spaces, and folder in arc.

A browser should be as simple as possible while blocking ads and trackers

Arch seems to complicated

I tried the windows beta for a bit. I now use Edge with vertical tabs on.

I'm unsure why Arc browse is an entirely different product on Mac and on Windows. On windows, it doesn't stand a chance against any other browser including Edge, it's appallingly underwhelming.

so you're less distracted by a bigger uglier tab bar than the slick and easy accessible one on the top from other browsers? Really? I hate sidebars on browsers. Does anyone truly believe, that every single other browser developer hasn't tested a sidebar already but then chose to go with the horizontal tabbar because it's simply better in every way?

Edge way over all of them. Arc is nice (when it is finished) and Brave is nice (in the rare instances of sensitive searches and websites).
But Edge stands above them in general use.

I have been running into issues with Arc lately tho. When I use dual monitors, switching tabs sometimes makes certain webpages load only partially. Although, hovering my mouse over the glitched sections makes them load in again. But this is an issue I've experienced.

I use Vivaldi since years and also have the ability to set the tabs to the left side. Even possible to have them on the right, top or bottom. No big deal. Furthermore I am using different OSes like Windows and Linux as well on Android. ARC isn't available on all of these platforms, which also is a reason to not use it since all of the synchronization in vivaldi is usable on all of the devices which isn't the case on ARC. Unless they have proper Apps for the OSes, I don't see a reason to switch to it and will stick to Vivaldi.

This is bizarre. It’s like saying “cake with frosting or cake that’s just bread because no cake without frosting is actually cake.”
