Correction: they are not usually used to combat poor farming conditions. Scientific literature most often cites the benefit to development of muscle mass in animals rather than using them for preventative measures.

I wrote a investigating antibiotic resistance less than three weeks ago. My professor made this point very clear.

Also worth noting regarding the use of antibiotics in livestock is that much of the reason for their over-use is the known side effect of livestock growing much, much more quickly; essentially large doses of antibiotics in livestock acts to help animals pack on the pounds....do you think we're any different?

A lot of people around me use it on flu, because their doctor said that. I never go with flu or cold to doctor, why should I? So I never ever had antibiotics in my life... And I'm very grateful for this!

Antibiotics may be needed even in viral infections like the flu, as a preemptive treatment to prevent secondary bacterial infections (such as pneumonia) which may occur when the immune system is stressed.

i hate when any video or article having to do with any drug whatsoever uses those stupid same stock photos of a generic pill bottle always spilled over on its side with a bunch of horse pills falling out of it. it makes it look like "ALL DRUGS ARE BAD AND EVIL AND THEY ARE JUST FLOWING AND BEING DROPPED INTO THE STREET ON ACCIDENT"
