Here in Florida we don’t have any emissions testing or inspections. Your car can literally be falling apart going down the road and you’re still good as long as you stop to pick up that part. Or you’ll get a $500 littering fine.

When my cat converter got stolen I really didn't want to be 6+ months waiting for the one the insurance company ordered from the stealership, so I had a straight pipe installed and did the wiring with a 300 ohm resister if I remember correctly, and that got rid of the light. I think it was 300 ohm that did it, I remember trying a few different ones i pulled out of some random old tape deck radio that was in my garage with a test lead and some clips.

Okay you got yourself a new subscriber. I bought this early 2000 Dodge ram 🐏 pick up 3/4 ton 4 by 4 and they took the welder bed off of it. It only has 28, 000 original miles verified. So I paid place to let me store it for a little while to go back and get it. That truck ran so quiet and smooth. But they stole that catalytic converters off of it. They're joining business has video cameras and she said that she sure that they have video of it. But I told the police and I told the owner of the property where I had it stored. They even called a guy who was stealing him out of the Walmart parking lot when people was in the shopping. But the video just wasn't there they said for my truck in the storage lot... So this test to see if my converters are bad by putting in that test pipe in this bypass I think might be in order

I just use a piece of electrical tape to cover the light. No emissions in my county in GA or all of Alabama. I've never had an emissions test in my 22 years of driving.
Only downside is that the check engine light doesn't notify you of new problems.

I love the fact they dont etest here anymore. Luckily for me the spacer (spark plug non fouler) worked just fine in my 2013 Focus (P0420 code for Catalyst below efficiency) It also worked on my previous 2001 Focus that had a test pipe and no cat at all. The computer is easy to trick because all the second o2(post cat) is looking for is the readings to be *less* than the reading it got from the first o2 (pre-cat). Moving the second O2 further out of the exhaust stream is enough to do it on most cars.

Two on each side packed with steel wool fixed the cel on my Ram for over 10 years now. One didn’t work. Then I left the closest one to the pipe alone and drilled the inside of the outer one out to 1/2” and it worked like a charm.

No emissions here in Alabama lol. We also have the easiest homemade trailer registration process. You literally just tell them you made a trailer. They tell you to make up a vin and they hand you a plate. No receipts or nothing. No inspections of any kind. 35 years and older vehicles don’t even need a title
