Dude i had to watch 10 videos to get to your video…all I wanted to know was where it needed to be installed, before or after Cat and you are the only one that said it lol.

Not all people are clever or understand where they go. I’m so glad you made this video explaining where they fit thanks again 👍👍

You are the only one that said after cat. I installed mine before cat and thought the thing was junk. I'm gonna try after the cat and see what happens. Thanks!

I have been chasing a p0420 fault on my truck for the better part of 4 months, hoping it wasn't the catalytic converter. After replacing everything that could cause the fault, I've come to the realization that I need a new cat. But now that I know these things work, I'm just going to gut it and throw one of these in. Thanks for the help.

My situation is different and I hope this works. I live in PA and i bought a used Buick Enclave that happens to be a ULEV CA car. I get a P0420 code. Just found out all three cats were replaced. I still get the code because the cats that were installed were NOT the ULEV CA cats. So hoping that installing a spacer gets the downstream sensor out of the exhausts direct flow, gives me a better (lower) reading and tricks the ECM to think that everything is good. Because those cats are like $1000 each to replace

I live in NYC my cat was stolen on a public street at 1pm in traffic, and I installed an aftermarket cat which failed after a year, So I put on one piece of 02 sensor which got rid of my codes still working after 2 years, Never met a mechanic who even checked or cared, as long as your car passes emissions you get your sticker!

Hell yeah! Even though I know its not a big deal seeing the check engine light always bothered me, and spending $800+ for new cats on a beater makes no sense, these are lifesavers.

Tip: Make sure everything fits tight. Don't let air into the sensor, which might trip a code.

how it is holding up after almost a year? how many miles have you done with them on in total? any issues?

thank you for such an informative video :)

I have 2 catless downpipes leading to a straight pipe exhaust. No cats no resonators.. will this work for passing emissions? They don’t actually inspect the motor, they just plug the OBD2 diagnostic in

Used a spark plug extender, drilled out the bottom to about 1/2", had to use a small pipe wrench to initially loosen o2 sensor as removal socket kept slipping. Filed off rough edges. Seems to be working. NO Light....

Reading all the comments from people not knowing whether to install this before or after the cat got me 🤣.. Some real special people out there.

What I wanted to know is would something like this help prevent a check engine light with an aftermarket downpipe that is bigger and has a high flow cat..

My turbo keeps melting OEM cats, I got two replaced under warranty, now my warranty is expired I'm thinking I might just put a 3'' downpipe with a high flow cat but I don't want any CEL's because that might trip the engine into limp mode.

I can verify that these do indeed work. Check engine light goes off and stays off.

As far as 'getting away with it' goes, I can't speak for California, but in New York all inspectors do is plug into the OBD2 port. If there's no persistent check engine codes, it passes. Mechanics don't care about anything else..

Awesome man thanks for the info. I have a question. Will this work if I have deleted the cats? I replaced my cats less than two years ago with universals and I am having codes thrown.

My car they recommended to do this (I'm getting a 90 degree angle) and they said to try it due to the cat being a new one (they don't make the originals anymore) but it would confuse the sensor and ECU MIL unit to think there is a problem with the cat, however doing my MOT in the UK where they do emissions checks, they stated that the cat was actually fine and the O2 sensor just couldn't understand what was happening. So I'm hoping when I do this, it fixes the issue.

will this work in Utah? They do emissions testing, but I don't believe they do a physical inspection. Threw this on, and code not showing anymore.

Great video. I bought one today as I have p0430 on my Sienna. I know its for Bank 1 Downstream but not sure which sensor. Is it for Sensor 1 or Sensor #2 Downstream?

So with race headers, do you put it on the downstream or upstream? Like coming out of the engine, the first one or the 2nd one?

you said at the end that it won’t pass in CA or NY what would be the reason it doesn’t pass in these areas ? and is it worth the risk to take it to a random smog place ?
