Well many patients are surprised that they're numb afterwards and I tell them that postoperatively once we've raised the skin to a lift it the nerves that produce the sensation of those areas have been have been cut. They will grow back however and they will grow back from a front to back direction in other words that start at your chin and progressively grow back into the overlying skin over a period of up to two to three months at times. But you will return you will retain all of your sensation in those areas.
