Did you know there is an interesting food and mood connection? In this video, we’re going to discuss the relationship between your food and mood, and much more.

You never want to treat a symptom directly without understanding the underlying cause. One of the big problems with traditional medicines is that they treat the symptom, like depression for example, without looking at the real cause.

The food and mood connection factors:

Nutrition:
• Potassium - Helps calm your heart and promote sleep
• B vitamins - Help ease anxiety and promote sleep (best source is nutritional yeast)
• Calcium - Helps you relax and reduces stress
• Omega 3 - Promotes brain health
• Iodine - Supports the thyroid and brain health (best source is sea kelp)

Blood sugars:
• If your blood sugar goes too high, you’re going to get brain fog and problems with memory.
• If your blood sugar goes too low, you’re going to have irritability, and ADD.

Hormones:
• Serotonin - Is a pleasure hormone (build up serotonin with a good diet)
• Cortisol - Is a stress hormone that comes from stress and causes anxiety
• PMS - If there is a relationship between your cycle and your mood, you need to support your ovaries
• Thyroid - Can cause depression and apathy

Sleep:
• Without sleep, you’re going to have anxiety

I reversed my depression, anxiety and ADHD. It has taken me 3 years to clean out my brain and give it the nutrients it needs. (It’s now 4/2018) The primary thing I focused on was correcting my leaky gut. I used lots of homemade bone broth and lots of high quality fats. I feel like a new person. Sometimes I’m embarrassed by who I “was.” I had such little self-control and made a lot of goofy choices, despite being in my late 40’s.

It’s wild how simple it has been to reverse diseases with some awesome education and taking my health into my own hands.

i love this doctor. Evry doctor should practice what he said: find the cure not treat symptoms.

He is absolutely right about fatigue feeling like depression. I remember having just moved house and all of a sudden, the afternoon after I'd unpacked all my stuff, feeling terribly depressed. I wasn't unhappy with the new place. No traumatic events. The problem truly was that I was tired, had barely slept the night before, and the fatigue felt like depression. The next morning, when I woke up after a good night's sleep, I felt great again. It was shocking to me.

Thank you so much for this, I have been telling this to people for years ( not the in-depth that you gave which I did not know) and they don't want to hear the truth. Years ago I went to doctors for what I felt was deep depression, anxiety attacks, fatigue. I could not eat out my hands would shake there were many times I could not even leave my house out of fears to go out in public. I was put on 3 meds plus a sleep aid. On a 600 mile trip to visit my parents, I left my meds behind, before my mom could get them shipped to me, for three days I went into a terrible drug withdraws just like a drug addict would go through. By the time my meds came all I remember is looking at them and dumping them in the garbage and said: " Never Again". I moved back to a town where I was "Happy Again", starting exercising like I used to, ate more nutritious food like I used to. I never needed the meds which made me zombie-like. I needed me back. I'm telling you Dr. Berg knows what he is talking about, this info is life-saving.

Funny thing. I have been diagnosed for 15 years with Manic Depression and social anxiety. I actually have been using this method that you have mentioned in your video and honestly I haven't had depression and my anxiety has been nonexistent.

I've experienced the effect of good choices, whenever I feel tired, I make a smoothie 70% vegetables and the rest fruits, plus moringa or barley grass and voilà! Newfound energy. Coconut water also works for me.

Great video... I went to see a psychologist about my anxiety and first thing she asked ''do you want us to put you on medication?'' I was shocked! Instead of that, I'm now going to worry management and changing my diet and doing yoga to improve my mental health

Hello, I'm a firefighter paramedic and I can't tell you how much this diet has not only decreased my weight but decreased anxiety on emergency incidents. My clarity on scene and my focus on some of the most demanding calls have greatly improved. My sleep has improved, snoring is gone, blood pressure is down. I'm excited to see what changes are on the horizon. I watch all your videos and have been eating super clean. I'm doing one meal per day at noon, and occasionally I eat a second time no later than 4:00pm. Brain fog is subsiding. I was rear-ended at work and needed surgery on my neck, I gained weight, but now I'm getting it under control. Lets hope this is the reason

What an awesome video. My depression went away after 10 years but I still get night time anxiety after gym which makes it more. Now I eat 2 - 3 cups of vegetables a day and take a magnesium supplement. I loved living in the states but the food tasted totally different from African food because ours is still very much in its natural state. Thank you for educating us.

Potassium is very important to calm the heart down.
B1 vit. Helps with restlessness Best is nutrition yeast. Calcium helps you rest, relax Best is calcium citrate, fish oils get a higher quality one, Iodine from a sea cal source..Tou want to make sure your breakfast is protein (egg, meat)You will feel so much better. And get sleep 8hrs Not 7hrs. Lack of sleep will cause all kinds of issues.
