'Tolerance has to work both ways': Paris mayor's 'aggressive' comments blasted

Queensland Independent MP Robbie Katter slams the “aggressive and provocative” statements from the Paris Mayor.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo launches an expletive-laden rant against the critics of the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.

“They’ve really distorted that word tolerance,” Mr Katter told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“It’s so aggressive and provocative.

“It’s well beyond just trying to encourage people to open their mind.

“We’re all for tolerance, but its got to work both ways.”

I visited Paris in 2012 and I found no reason at all to ever wish to return there. I DID meet a Frenchman from a village in the French countryside, who told me how much he detests Paris and the people who live there. He said that most French people outside of Paris feel the same way and have very little time for Parisians. I just wanted to say that in defence of the majority of Frenchmen and women. Paris is a sewer in more ways than one and the Mayor is just more evidence of how digusting the place is. I’m a little confused at why nobody seems to be aware of the fact that Eiffel Tower is merely a steel version of the obelisks once worshipped by the ancients and is therefore the world’s largest phallic symbol. So the city’s most cherished landmark is basically a huge D—K.
No surprise then that the moral tone of the place is so low.

As a gay person and someone who is culturally Christian, why did it have to be antiChristian to celebrate LGBT communities? Wouldn’t it have been more topical and appropriate to celebrate some of the amazing LGBT athletes (that compete against their own biological sex ofc)? You know, during this celebration of togetherness and sport? If they had done that anyone crying about would actually be bigots. But now we’re pissed because of the double standard more than anything. They wouldn’t have done it to any other religion. Christian countries throw us parades while others throw us off roofs as Blair White said. So why crap on our religion?
