I've been training my chest twice a week, even on my non chest training days, I'll either do dumbell or barbell bench press and different pushup variations.

Great content! I'll train each muscle group 2 times per week to hit MRV of 24 total sets. It's worked great for me.
Chest/Shoulders, remaining MRV Arms
Legs, remaining MRV Back
-Rest-
Arms, remaining MRV shoulders
Back, remaining MRV chest
-Rest on the weekends with active cardio, vacuums, pull & push ups.
*fasted steady state cardio on spin bike 45 minutes daily.

Not if you bench for isolation. Most people do tend to lift really heavy. Sometimes 8-10 reps bench press for compound reason are still too heavy. Might as well deload & go lower. The key here is to reach muscle fatigue. Or in this case pectoral fatigue. If you lift too heavy your CNS will take over, it doesn't stimulate hypertrophy but instead stimulate your ability to lift heavy from hormonal signalling (adrenaline etc). In order to grow muscles you need to feel it in your muscles. That's why in my favourite I just lift 60kg while not gripping the bar at all.

Tips for progressive overload with only dumbbells? Going up 5 lbs on dumbbells is a much bigger percentage than on barbell. Thoughts on magnetic micro plates??
