Good glow plugs, battery, starter, and a tight fuel system is key! Most common problem is usually lack of maintenance. Cheers

Don't forget good battery cables power AND ground (0/2 minimum). My truck cranks almost twice as fast after I replaced mine. My truck has the stock starter and economy Walshart batteries.

Love the content dude keep up the good work!

Prime information
The ole inline 4's and 6's need all the CCA

Two decent batteries, a properly working glow plug system, and no air intrusion.

I got a 93 f350 crew cab dually woth the 7.3 idi and a 5speed manual for cheap after my friend blew the headgaskets and found out the heads had micro cracks in them causing the head gaskets to fail. Currently reworking used heads I found and going through and replacing common wear items and junk parts, hopefully have it running by the end of the year.

I'm just finishing putting an '83 f150 onto an '86 f250 4x4 chassis with the 6.9L
Just did the switch by pass for the glow plug controller for now. But wanting to upgrade to the 7.3 combo. Got some good batteries. Plan on doing the fuel line kit asap. And i am adding a check valve in the fuel line to prevent it from flowing back (not the return). Good fuel line it shouldn't happen, but it will increase efficiency.
Upgrading the starter is a good addition.

R and d performance makes a billet fuel rail to ditch the problematic leaking plastic return lines. Cdd also makes an e fuel system to ditch the mechanical lift pump that leaks, also it needs a bbc block off plate

You don't need to convert the fuel pump..
Good batteries, clean, solid connections, strong starter, and new glow plugs. Glow plugs "last a long time" but they do degrade with normal use. Proper fuel with clean filters is another must.

I wish you could do a video like this to make my 7.3 powrstroke start like that 😂. I’m from NS, great videos

I would also say that most people don’t understand the correct cold start procedure either. Tight fuel system and good battery will make a world of difference.

I'd love to see a good video of the fuel pump set up. Always been worried about messing with that stuff

Forget those crappy plastic caps, go to r&d and get the aluminum rails, it's worth the money

I believe International labeled their engines as cubic inches but the same engine in a Ford is in the less precise form, liters.

All the return kits ive found are garbage and leak right off the bat. Ive given up and just accept the fuel system will lose prime and leak.
