This movie makes total sense. Instead of aliens arriving at our door step unannounced, they COMMUNICATE first. Kinda like they did in the movie 2001, and with that "come find us" attitude.

The Machine is, to this day, the only sci-fi movie space travel device that still gives me goosebumps... even after having watched that movie 20 times. Jar Jar Abhrams couldn't do that with all the Mickey Bucks and lens flare in the universe.

What I liked most about this movie is that they extract your memory from deep inside your brain and recreate the image of the person you lost in time. I miss my mother everyday after her sudden demise this February 2022. I want science to advance to that great extent that I can live the rest of my life reliving the memories of my mother. It's the visual memories, the feelings of affection that I want back desperately, as I know I cannot get her in flesh. I tried to believe there is afterlife. But science is evidence-based and we don't have sufficient evidence to prove it. I tried to make peace thinking there are parallel universes where my mom is still alive and I am not troubled by her absence. I tried hard to be wishful about meeting my mom in spirit world getting inspirations from videos on NDE's and books that talk about afterlife. My imaginative mind also thought about faster-than-light-travel that would allow me to go to the past and undo my mom's sudden death. Every route is ruled out by current scientific and technological limitations. I don't like the word "move on", you can move on from your disagreeing partner, but not from your parents who love you unconditionally. So, no, this world does not comfort me even a pinch. What I need is hope! Hope that one day science would be able to immortalize people by uploading their consciousness into cloud or let me relive the memories of our beautiful past.

This has been one of my favorite movies about aliens for a while now. Also, Alien hahaha 😂 I'd obviously want an interaction with this movie ETs, instead of the other with the aliens and predators. Lol

We are so primitive as a species compared to even a type 2 civilization. Intelligent life would need to survive for such a long time against all odds to reach a level 4 or 5 civilization that they could only get there with the intervention from a higher civilization, so this movie shows the imperative connection needed for any hope of reaching a higher level technology before they go extinct
