In her interview she said she failed “final shot “ 👀 that’s the culminating event, that used to be a straight fail .👀

They lowered the standards. Im all for women doing this but making it easier for them is a insult to those men who barely didnt make it.

I am a former USMC 0317, and I also attended the MARSOF course ( advanced sniper course ). I also have completed REAL combat deployments as well. She stated that she failed the "Final Shot".... In the Marine Corps Scout / Sniper course, that's an automatic FAIL... Once again, the Army has lowered the training standards for females ( Anyone remember the female Ranger candidate? ). I call BULLS**T on her "accomplishment"....

I have a close friend and fellow brother who was a Marine Scout Sniper and the amount of bullshit this is isn’t even comprehensible. He started with a class of 35 and ended with 5, these men are amount the best the organization has to offer. This cute, blonde, 100lbs soaking wet girl had absolutely no chance of passing standards… unless the criteria and scores were fraudulent or lowered beyond all belief.

While I do agree that standards shouldn’t be lowered especially in the military, it’s incredibly disrespectful to hate on this woman just because you’re upset. Y’all need to just come out and admit that you don’t like it because she’s a woman who made it. Congratulations to her, and I’m sure she will do well.

Congratulations Sgt. Hay!
You make us all proud. History has shown the distinction of female snipers in combat. You follow a proud tradition.

During WWII, Lyudmila Pavlichenko was recognized as the most successful female sniper in history, with a total of 309 confirmed kills. Ms. Pavlichenko was born in 1916 in Bila Tserkva, a sizeable Ukrainian city south of Kyiv.

Her military career during WWII was while Ukraine was a part of the Soviet Union.

Klaudia Kalugina remains among the deadliest snipers ever. Of the 2, 000 Russian female snipers during WWII, it was reported that she had 257 Axis kills—one of those shots made over one mile away.

In 2001, Jennifer Weitekamp, then Senior Airman Donaldson, fresh out of basic training, volunteered to attend the Air National Guard’s pilot Counter Sniper School at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Initially, Weitekamp was not allowed into the course because it was not open to women.

“They asked for volunteers for this training program, and I really wanted to go, so I volunteered, ” Weitekamp said. “It wasn’t until after I volunteered that I was told I couldn’t go because I was female.”

A couple of weeks before the start of the course, school officials decided to let her attend, inadvertently making her a trailblazer.

On April 14, 2001, Weitekamp completed the course, becoming the first woman to complete a U.S. military sniper school - the first female sniper in the Air Force.

“The school was not easy, and there were days I wanted to go home, ” Weitekamp said. “I was the first woman to go through; it was because of that and the opportunities it would open up for future women that helped me get through the training and kept me motivated.”

In 2012, 11 years after Weitekamp graduated, the ninth female graduated from the Close Precision Engagement Course (CPEC). The program is now located at Fort Bliss, Texas

Air Force Staff Sgt. Alyssa Gomez, 99th Ground Combat Training Squadron instructor, graduated from the CPEC on April 27, 2012—staff Sgt. Gomez became the U.S. military's ninth officially qualified female sniper.

It's an impressive story, particularly as the U.S. Armed Forces continue its path to gender equity.

Go, Army - keep up the excellent work.

That was a really nice way of saying she was “pushed through”. At least I got my Hogs tooth when standards mattered.

This is just confirmation that the standards *dropped*

So, the marine corps just disbanded the scout sniper course, and the Army has women graduating theirs.

Doesn’t lowering the standards seem pretty dumb given it’s a very demanding MOS

It is better to be trained to defend yourself, your family, your friends and your country. Fighting in a war is not pretty but if you are the only one that can step up and do it more power to you. GOD bless you 🙏

So she didn't have to meet the standard... That's great. So she'll be a huge liability to whatever unit she goes to.
