Thank you so much!! I started experiencing the throbbing sound in my right ear on and off for the last week. I figured it was related to my chronic TMJ

I am a 61 y/o female.
I developed the onset of tinnitis in my right ear about 4 years ago around the same time that I was being exposed to high levels of mold toxicity.
Recently, I have begun to experience intence pain in both ear canals throughout the day/night.
The openings to my ear canals also seem smaller. (???)
When I place my fingers on my jaw joints, there is a quarter sized lump on the left side, but nothing on the right. I also have bone loss on the left side of my jaw (due to tooth loss) but not on the right.
I am being told by my doctor that I am just overthinking the issue, but regardless, the pain is very real.
I feel like I'm falling through the cracks because of my age. How can I get my doctors to take me seriously? Thank-you so much for anything you can do to help get me on the road to recovery.

So what's the solution? The way I see it, a splint should prevent the lower jaw from going all the way back there and hitting on the ear, right?

Are there any scientific studies that correlate the two?

Thank you for the video, I was diagnosed with tmj and eustation tube dysfunction and get frequent build up of pressure and moisture in my ears and end up getting infected. Been getting them on and off for almost 2 years now. I grind my teeth and clench my jaw at night so I need a anterior jaw mouth guard to help relieve the pressure. I just want to go back to living my normal life.

Can tj issues relate to neurological issues, and what does sepsis p have to do with it

Can my patulous eustation tube be due to a jaw problem? They both occluded around the same time and I’ve never previously any jaw, teeth, or ear problems. My lower jaw and random teeth ache. But I have been diagnosed with my tube being open and have lots of ear pressure and popping in the ears when swallowing. Thank you!

Despite TMD was discovered first by an ENT, most of them are completely ignorant about this disorder/dysfunction. And most doctors are ignorant in that field. Worse than that, they have very strong false beliefs and misconception about it.

My TMJ MRI REPORT

Age :43 year. Male.

MRI TEMPORO MANDIBULAR JOINTS

Protocol:
MR examination of the temporo mandibular joints was performed in open and closed mouth positions. Oblique sagittal
PD/T2 FS, coronal T1/STI sequences and axial T2 sequence.

OBSERVATIONS:
The study reveals normal anatomical configuration / signal morphology of the bilateral
temporo mandibular joints. No subluxation / dislocation is seen.
Condylar fossae appear normal. Condyles & the necks of mandible under view appear normal
No demonstrable focus of altered marrow signal is seen involving the bones under view. No
marrow edema / cortical erosion / destruction is seen.

Right TM joint:
Intra articular disc appears normal in thickness with presence of mild intrasubstance
hyperintensity. The retro-discal tissues appear normal, No disc thickening/crumpling or
abnormal displacement seen.

Closed mouth: Both mandibular condyles and fibrocartilaginous disc are noted in the
fossa. The position of junction of posterior disc and retrodiscal tissue remain in
normal position in relation to mandibular condyle. Intermediate zone remains
between mandibular condyle and articular eminence.

Open mouth: There is abnormal suboptimal anterior translation of the mandibular
condyles on mouth opening. The articular disc remains stuck in position in open
mouth position.

Left TM joint:
Intra articular disc appears normal in appearance with presence of intrasubstance
hyperintensity. The retro-discal tissues appear normal. No disc thickening/crumpling or
abnormal displacement seen.

Closed mouth: Both mandibular condyles and fibrocartilaginous disc are noted in the
fossa. The position of junction of posterior disc and retrodiscal tissue remain in normal position in relation o mandibular condyle. Intermediate zone remains
between mandibular condyle and articular eminence.

Open mouth: There is abnormal suboptimal anterior translation of the mandibular
condyles on mouth opening. The articular disc remains stuck in position in open
mouth position.

Joint spaces are normal. No effusion is seen.

No demonstrable soft tissue mass / collection is seen.

Soft tissues and the muscles under view appear normal & bilaterally symmetrical.
