I absolutely love your headphone reviews, but I will have to respectfully disagree with you on this. While I did think that the noise cancellation was pretty close to even on both, I was rather disappointed with the sound that the Beats Studio Pro displayed for me. Not what I had anticipated. I prefer the XM5’s. I feel that their sound is much more balanced. I ended up returning the Beats to Best Buy.

Forget sound quality, the almost perfect silence xm5 creates it is worth the price. It enhances your capacity to work and relax in noisy environment. As they say silence is golden!❤

I’ll have to disagree, just from a sound perspective, the XM5’s have tons more customization and are louder overall, and a bit more comfortable in my opinion, and while the beats are very good, if I see the two sitting next to each other, I’m picking the XM5’s 9 out of 10 times, and other than the crazy discounts that the beats get, I think most people are picking the beats because of the name rather than the Sony’s, while they are both top tier headphone, I believe the Sony’s are the better pick

Having tried both this I cannot make out how in the world you end up with that conclusion. The Beats build quality does not compare to the XM5. Beats’ cheap plastic and hinges look like they’re gonna break after a week’s usage, and the way they fold up I noticed they affect the pads as well. The bands also made of grippy rubber that rubs on your hair and your temple. The ear cups don’t swivel at all, they stay still and that sucks because you can’t have them rest on your shoulders comfortably whereas you can do that on the XM5. I’m also not a fan of the controls, you can feel and hear when you’re pressing the logo and it feels like having a woodpecker peck the inside of your ear, I know they tried to be unique but just have the normal boring button controls on the side, it’s not that hard. The microphone lets in a lot of noise as well, I felt like a cheap 5 dollar wired earbuds could do better. Audio-wise the XM5 crush them, the top ends are much better represented, and the ANC as you’ve said is great, it’s much better and actually targets low end rumbling noises. I could never recommend the Beats to anyone when the Sony’s exist for the same price.

Beats are great, the clamp force is just too much for me. I just tried the XM5 and they are much more comfortable and I love the ability to adjust and customize the eq balance. The volume can be louder, the bass more impactful, and again… much more comfortable. I need something I can wear for a longer period without feeling like I’m on the verge of a headache because of my headphones being too tight.

Still using my whxm3 and just upgraded my wfxm3 to the xm5 their quality and reliability is so much better than everything I’ve used

The ANC, good lord magnificent ❤ just above everything else! That too with almost zero cabin pressure and zero white noise. Simply blown away. The amount is worth it just for the feature alone

XM5 is amazing for real. I don’t care about Apple and Bose at this point because Sony XM5 will last me for years. The build on this is solid ☺️

Disagree. I have tried both and there’s some great in-depth reviews measuring the noise cancellations, default EQ, etc. the XM5 beat them all.

finding my new pair of sony 1000mx5 has a problem when cars pass on roads going the opposite way - get a small bang noise - possible wind noise of the hgv going past in reverse but most disquieting

I got the Beats Studio Sony xm5 and Bose QC ultra im dumb I couldn’t decide but my ranking is for sound and noice canceling the Bose ultra are too good I can’t use them at work 2nd I like Sony xm5 because the aesthetic how they look and the touch functionality my Beats Studio have great sound look stylish but I can deal with the pressure of the band after a long sitting it feels my head gonna go 💥 😂

I have been a Beats head for years but I have to disagree when the comparison. The WH1000XM5 is overall a better product. Beats used to be good until Apple acquired them. Not a fan of beats any longer.

Lol. Beats. Ive owned 2 pairs and they both didnt last long with super minimal use. Never abused them yet they seemed to fall apart quickly. The sound was ok but the comfort was not good.
