Dr. Fahey is a nutritional biochemist with an extensive background in plant and human nutrition and phytochemistry. Dr. Fahey was an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School, where he directed the Cullman Chemoprotection Center, a leading center for the study and development of plant-based protective agents. He held faculty appointments in three departments at Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine and Public Health where he conducted laboratory and clinical trials, taught graduate courses, and mentored students since 1993.

He spent the first 15 years of his career in agricultural biotechnology research and industrial process development. Dr. Fahey “retired” in mid-2020 to focus his attention entirely on outreach and educational efforts.

I just made my first batch of broccoli sprouts! 11 oz total. It was super easy! I just ate 3oz with Maras salt and garlic infused EVOO! 😋 my functional doctor told me to eat 2oz a day. I've been buying the 2oz package at Sprouts for 5 dollars! So...cha-ching!🤑

I happened to have broccoli sprouts in my salad tonight! Nice to know it's so good for me. 😋

Edit: And one more thing. Broccoli sprouts are sometimes gone at Sprouts. I had to get mixed sprouts (with broccoli) a couple of days ago. I'm wondering if they're catching on.

Guys! Try this in the AM:
Trader Joe’s whole grain sourdough, toasted;
1/2 avocado, mashed
1-2 T sauerkraut
1 big handful of broccoli sprouts
1 Fried egg or egg whites
A sprinkle of TJs black garlic

My breakfast most days and to die for! Also, mix sprouts into soups, chili, or stews if the sprouts have too strong of a bite.

Glad you mentioned the very big deal about insurance not covering functional docs. Nobody is talking about this! I can't pay $20, 000. + for a policy, then pay out of pocket to see a doc.

cooking lightly to breakdown the cellulose is key! As in Chinese cooking, it’s all cooked so perfectly, if you don’t cook broccoli with a healthy fat you will not absorb these important nutrients,
plus you will be compromising your thyroid and digestion- look at the oldest culture of properly cooking: fire is and was essential for our brain-health, nutrient absorption.
Raw vegan, which I’ve tried, in cold NYC and Boston, almost killed me! Now, I eat what my body tells me, of. course, I don’t eat sugar, wheat and vegetable oils except for olive oil.
Fat is essential for all nutrient absorption- EVOO is best!

How many grams or units of sprouts I have to put into the blender for one dose of a shake ? Could I mix it with other strong antioxidants like apigenin ? Is it possible to overdose sulforaphane ?

How does one find Moringa with acceptable levels of heavy metals? I am a nurse and I am completely convinced from the data regarding sulforaphane/broccoli sprouts and moringa. ( ( do sprouting in mason jars). I am reading many studies. The literature indicates moringa is a potent heavy metals scavenger, and that some samples from parts of the world contained heavy metals - please advise.

Children that are brought up on a fresh food diet. Meat, fish, dairy and good vegetation have always been healthy and fit. They grow well, they don't get fat unless they eat junk food and package foods from the supermarkets. Too much bread, pasta and pizzas.

pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are on no list please in his book plant paradox.It is lectin in these seeds.( Dr Steven Gundry).Felt much better on cutting them.We are unique, no one size fit all..

The interviewer did a great job of asking questions, but the Doctor did not know all the answers like the best way to cook broccoli to get the best benefits of them. He also didn't seem to know the best way to eat the sprouts or when. But the interviewer was right when he said if you start eating healthy, in a few weeks you will not want to eat unhealthy. I do not think even eating vegetables unless certified organic is good to eat from a store. If you feel cucumbers, they are often sticky like something is sprayed on them and they don't disclose this which they should.
