*I did 10 years at PB and always carried a weapon but like 99% of my fellow inmates they were used for self-defense and just brandishing it when attacked saved my life 20X .*

Having worked in a prison I can confidently say that some of the MOST ingenious, creative, and brilliant people I've ever known were on those prison units. I mean the incredibly extensive lengths inmates will go to to create tattoo guns, weapons, and distilleries are breathtaking. Seriously some of these cats should be employed with the government to just come up with ideas for all manner of issues and technology. I suspect that in a lab setting, if they can stop their drive for addiction they would create humanity changing inventions. LoL 😂 it's wild

That plastic dun he keeps showing in the zip gun segment was a gun realised on civilian market called the zip 22 not a gun made in prison and it was probably worse than the ones you find in prisons

The exploding bottle would be a rare happening, but from personal experience, I've seen someone sneak a fairly large amount of combustible fluid out of the sign shop, throw it through the bars of a snitch and light it. The block stunk for days. It's was over for the guy by the time the guards got his cell open. That was back in the 1970s, so things have changed a lot. I have a nice scar on my back from a shank made from a nail. Sam Garrison, a very old warden at Central Prison NC used to say that if you put two cons on two different telephone poles, gave one a cigarette and one a match, that when you came back in 5 minutes, both would be smoking. I've seen some crazy, but ingenious solutions to problems. Our cells had light bulbs. We took the hair thin wire that the step down current things in radios and run one little wire from side of bulb to our radios and run one to a bare place on the bars and bingo, we had power for our radios or whatever we needed. "It's better to be caught with a shank, than to be caught without one!".
