Using the 2021 Steam Hardware Survey, we built the machine that apparently you’re all gaming on. It may not have Ray Tracing, but it's still pretty good!

Some mayonnaise cooling would knock a good 5 degrees off that CPU.

What's scary is the fact that this build costs same today as it would 5 years ago... God I miss affordable hardware.

I like how he says 70-90 fps is an acceptable gaming experience when me and my friends run games at less than 30 fps and think it's the most fun and smooth experience on earth

This one should be titled: "Catching up with our audience." Well done.

It's absolutely criminal that he quotes the price as "$750-$1300" for a machine with a 4770k and a 1060 6 gb.
These hardware prices are absolutely insane. I remember getting my first pc for around $1000, and it was running a 6600k watercooled, R9 390, 16 gb DDR4. And that was when the 6th gen was brand new.

A great follow-up video would be "what is the most cost-efficient upgrade to the most average gamer pc?"
Try a handful of cpus and gpus, score them on their fps increase, weighted by how costly the upgrade is.

You should do this every year around Xmas to show the evolution of the hardware people use over years.

Funny how the pc he built is literally the twin of my PC. Specs, looks and everything

I’m happy to even play 30 fps I’ve been playing on integrated for a long time. This gpu range is outstanding for my standards

For a while I was rocking an I7 2600K, GTX 1050TI, and 16 gigs of ram since I built my rig in 2017. I was amazed at everything I could merely run above 30FPS with decent graphical settings, even into 2020 and 2021. At the beginning of 2022 I upgraded my GPU to an AMD 5 ryzen 5600X and my ram to 32 gigs. I also ended up upgrading my card to a 3070TI about 2 weeks ago. I feel like a my middle school self again.
