Update: Genshin just posted that this Mondstadt Chronicled Wish banner will only last March 13 to April 2 (so essentially phase 1). This is definitely shorter than I hoped :/ that being said, you certainly have to save/prepare appropriately if you plan on wishing on this.

Would've been great if they let us use both Intertwined fate and Acquaint fate when pulling on this banner..

People, please keep very solidly in your mind that this banner is fully designed to drain you of primos and intertwined fates so that you spend more on featured characters. It's fine if you want specific things from it, but DO NOT WISH unless you have enough to get to pity twice. You lose that 50/50, it's completely wasted. It's the scammiest thing they've done yet (outside of maybe weapon banner).

Honestly for weapons, its so much better than weapon banner. I lost twice, twice. Raiden's weapon and Furina's weapon. I lost so many wishes getting them and was contemplating getting broken pines. Don't think I'll pull for broken pines although. Since I unfortunately don't have enough for guarantee.

I think the issue people have is they think this is supposed to be a standard banner. When in reality this is just a rerun banner. That's the purpose of this, not to be a second standard banner.

18 months ago I decided not to pull for Tighnari despite really wanting him, as I pull limited characters quite a lot and surely I'd lose a 50/50 to him eventually... 4 Jeans, 3 Dilucs, 2 Dehays, 2 Monas, 2 Keqings and a QiQi later, this banner gives me precious hope!!!

I will only probably pull on this banner if/when the Jade Cutter appears on it. 😅

Overall, I think this Chronicled Wish is best for weapons like the Jade Cutter, Hunter's Path, and Beacon. Not sure if they're ever going to put low-demand or less appealing signature weapons (e.g., Vortex Vanquisher, Everlasting Moonglow), but I'm pretty sure the stronger ones (e.g., Homa, Aqua) WON'T be making an appearance... but hopefully, they do. Hehe.

The only reason I can see being worth it to pull on the Chronicled Banner for characters is if you're looking to snipe standard characters or if you like all of the characters in it. Like, I wouldn't mind "losing" in a Chronicled Banner composed of Tartaglia, Baizhu, Kokomi, Tighnari, Jean, and Cyno (but this banner has a chance of happening, I think, LOL). It looks to be regional right now, though, but this is only the first Chronicled Banner so there are sure to be changes coming in the next editions.

All that being said, the bottom line is still: save for the characters you want. As the saying goes, patience is a virtue—even more so in gacha games. Good luck, everyone!

I don't think this is THAT bad like some people said it is. It sure is not very worth it for us, older player. But I can think of it as a win-win. Newer players will have their opportunity to get old characters in cheaper way (they can lose to anothe limited character). And older players will get newer characters on rerun more often and maybe we can get older character's constellation more easily.

If Primordial Jade Cutter reruns, then it would be nice and easier to get it instead of the regular way from actual Weapon Banner.

Another note about standard characters is even if they aren't meta, that doesn't mean that can't become meta in the future. I mean 4.2 gave us Furina which validated everyone who ever invested in Jean, and just recently we got cloudyun which did the same for Diluc players. There's always a chance something like this will come around for other old characters, especially since the devs seem to be focusing on that this version

One other pro for this banner (specifically this lineup) is if you are a beginner then this banner is guaranteed to give you a character that you can fully level up in mondstadt/early liyue as opposed to rushing to Fontaine to get mats for Chiori... But of course pull for who you want!

This banner can be situationally good if you're one of those people who are LOCKED ON getting a character - meaning whether you lose 50/50 or not, you would push eitherways getting the character simply because you want them. With that said, these people tend to be banner skippers and save up at least 160 wishes for that character and comparing normal limited event banner to the new chronicle banner. The new chronicle banner would be better as the new banner gives you a chance to lose to LIMITED 5 stars.

Personally, the new banner should just be considered as a small nice addition. One can simply ignore it and nothing would change but with proper planning, the new banner can be advantageous to some extent. At least for someone like me who aims to collect all the characters.

Sure, I can just do the same save method on regular limited event banners but thing is, there would be times that the limited characters included in the chronicle banner are characters I still don't have. At least, on the chronicle banner, I am given the chance to get two limited 5 stars that I still don't have. I could have selected Albedo, lose to Eula and get Albedo since I initially saved up enough for him anyway and I would sleep with two less characters to collect.

While it's true that the new banner does not guarantee you losing to a LIMITED 5 star, it's still better than not having any chance at all and even if you already have the other limited 5 stars in the pool, getting their cons wouldn't be that all bad cause most players tend to stop pulling on banner reruns once they already have the said character but with the new chronicle banner, you can lose to them not to mention players who have been playing for so long probably have at least 2 standard 5 stars who are almost at C6 or already at C6. I am one of those players so I pretty much would not want to lose to another Keqing 😂

If I have enough primos after pulling for Neuvillette, I will try to go for Hunter’s Path.

I don’t have Beacon, SW Blade, SW Spine, or Broken Pines either. The fact that I could “lose” to any of those other weapons actually sounds like an amazing outcome

I am SO tempted for Hunter's Path as a tighnari lover and as someone who tried (and failed) to get it all the way back in 3.0. but my issue is 4.5 is so stacked against me. The geo weapon banner is perfect for me (I love Noelle and Albedo to pieces and they deserve upgrades) and ive been slowly trying to c6 my kazuha (rn at c3). theres honestly too much to pull right now and my 90 wishes arent cutting it.
