New Banner System Explained + Characters Prediction - Genshin Impact

New banner system has been announced, and probably many of you have a question: how is it going to work, and what characters might be featured in the next version? So, in this video, I'll simply explain how this banner will work and speculate on what characters might be in this banner in version 4.6.

The new banner is called the Chronicle Wish. This time, the banner features all 5-star characters from Mondstadt and a bunch of 5-star weapons. Basically, this banner includes all characters from Mondstadt, but as you may already notice, without Venti.
It still unclear whether characters should have 3 reruns or appear in the limited banner 3 times to be in this banner. Therefore, my prediction is based on the assumption that they had 3 reruns, not 3 banners.

Considering that Venti has already had 5 banners and still hasn't appeared, we can say that Archons won't appear in this banner from now on.

So let's quickly talk about its system.

It functions similarly to banners where you need 90 pulls for a five-star limited character. The unique aspect of this banner is the ability to choose a specific character or weapon that you want. For example, if you select Albedo, you'll only get five-star characters from this banner, excluding weapons, until you get Albedo. If you fail to get Albedo or, as we say, lose the 50/50, it will work the same way as a limited banner, so the next time will be guaranteed. However, if you lose your 50/50, you won't be able to carry pity to the next patch. So this is the main disadvantage of this banner. Most of us pull on banners to stack pity, and even if you lose, you can guarantee someone in the next versions, but not with this banner. So you should pull on this banner only if you will have 180 pulls in this patch to guarantee the desired character or just try your luck.

Even though there is this problem, this banner will be around for the whole version, so you have a chance to get some rare character Albedo or Dehya's weapon, Beacon of the Reed Sea.

Now that we know how this banner works, let's try to speculate on Chronicle Wish in version 4.6.

I will suggest that in this banner, characters will be only from a specific region.

As I previously said, new characters won't be included in this banner because the criteria are that they must have rerun three times already.

You may have heard that version 4.6 will be Sumeru-related event, and some people might think that characters from Sumeru will be in this banner, but that won't happen.

Characters must have had 3 reruns to be in this banner, and characters like Cyno, Nilou, Alhaitham, and Wanderer all of them have had fewer than 3 reruns. Of course, you can say that Tignari and Dehya will appear in this banner, but I think that they won't put only two character in this banner.

So most likely, we will see characters from Liyue. Considering that Shenhe and Ganyu got their skins recently, a Liyue banner will fit perfectly for the next Chronicle Wish. So you can expect characters like Ganyu, Chichi, Hu Tao, Keqing and Tartaglia. But probably, you won't see Yelan in this one because she has only had 3 banners, not 3 reruns.

But if this banner won't include characters only from a specific region, and the criteria is 3 banner not 3 reruns, then there are a lot of options who might appear there. You can stuck pity on this banner for the next version, but the fate point you get for losing 50/50 will reset in the next patch.
And it's 3 banners not 3 reruns.

I believe you can carry over pity but it won't carry over the guaranteed point I think. That's what I remember reading

Not the pity but the fate points since it works the same as weapon banner because of epitomized path. So if you didn't pull again(until the banner disappear) after you lose, the fate points will loss and your not guaranteed again. But the pity is still there.

It was also said that this banner will appear 'from time to time', which I am understanding as we won't have it every update. So I think in 4.6 we won't have it at all, and then maybe in 4.7 or 4.8 we will see it again

I can confirm that hu Tao will be in the next Chronicles wish because when I was going to the wishing I saw a flash of hu Taos, splash art on the Chronicle banner so the next chronicled banner will be Liyue

Regarding this new Chronicle banner, I think it's a interesting additon, used correctly it can serve people well if they are looking for specific characters on the standered banner (like me still looking for Keqing and Jean but the game keeps throwing Diluc at me). Chararcters that are older and don't appear as often like Albedo without having to wait months for them to rerun, or 5 star weapons like Dehya and Tighnari's signature weapons without having to deal with the higher cost of the weapon banner.

Still it is not without flaws, not being able to transfer pity sucks but again it just means you have to be more careful with your pulling and make sure you have 180 pulls to guarentee success. If you do it's cheaper then weapon banner and a little riskier then a standered limited banner. This banner I feel is meant to help people get stuff they missed but still want without having to wait forever for the characters and weapons they want to appear. It's still young though in concept so we will have to see how it fairs in practice.

There is a bug where you can see a different banner for a few frames on the chronical wish where there is a hutao on the front and on the left are 6 zhonglees so there might be archons idk

Archons can be in those banners. it just got also told that the characters who already had a rerun before in a time period not to far away wont be featured in those banners. thats why Venti isnt there. i belive Archons will be in there. maybe 4.8 or 5.0

TLDR: Will the current banners share pity with this new banner thing?
Will that carry over to this epitomized banner thing? Or will they be opposite banners with the same currrency you need but different pities?
