How to fix dual monitor flicker

My second monitor began flickering and I couldn't recall exactly what I did to cause it. After some detective work, I figured out having ATI Overdrive enabled caused the flicker even though I didn't change any of the clock speeds or default settings. Hope this helps others out there with the same issue.

Thanks a million. I had Overdrive switched off - I thought - but when I fired up the 2nd screen I found that Overdrive was switched on. Weird, and tearing problem solved. Thanks again.

This fixed my flickering problem too, I thought it was something to do with the different screens and resolutions (1920x1080 + 1440 x900) I'm using a 5850 with both DVI. Cheers for the video!^ its fixed the flickering. 21 seconds of awesomeness and its the first video I watched.

Ah brilliant, thanks. I'd just got a new 120hz monitor and put my old ones either side of it for triple monitor setup and it was driving me crazy! Thought it was the mixed refresh rates/resolutions but this just fixed it.

Thank you so much.  I and Dell Tech Concierge have tried to fix this issue with New Radeon Driver ver. 14 for 5 days now.  The driver was uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, but the monitors still flickered.  I happened across your post, unticked overdrive.  Thanks!  Instant fix.

Nice work. I had ATI afterburner running an overclock. Set it to auto.... Problem fixed.
