A step-by-step tutorial on how to use the new Microsoft Teams meetings transcription and Live Captions. Teams Meeting transcription was recently updated and improved, and now you have speaker attribution for Teams live captions as well. People can download the transcript in Microsoft Teams after the meeting in VTT or Word doc format, as well as see the full transcript during the Teams meeting. This video shows how to turn on Live Captions, start the recording and Teams meeting transcription, and also download the captions after the meeting ends.

I turn on the transcription as an attendee yesterday and today I realized to get those as minutes of the meeting. How do I get the file? Your video is not describing if as an attendee can I download the transcription after 24 hours?

Is it available for English (India)? AFAIK from the docs I think it is only available for English (USA).

Really really appreciated, Mike as I'm going to have to meeting with Indian guys and I found I cannot follow up them during the meeting, now the problems has been sorted out, I will try for next meeting, may I ask is there anyone knowing that i started to transcription once the meeting finished ?

For certain meetings e.g. with medical patients, the transcription service must legally be entirely carried out in the local country. Nothing - and I mean, nothing, no part of the audio or text stream, can pass out to regional centres or the US. I spent a year trying to get an answer from Microsoft as to where the service is running. I've asked local Microsoft staff, Teams PMs, and on the private team for Education users. No one knows or is willing to give an answer. It cannot be true that Microsoft doesn't know how its products are engineered. But until a formal answer is given, we have to use on-prem Zoom or other services for all affected business activities with regulated content.

Any chance that Microsoft will let the transcripts be translated as well? either afterwards or in real time? It would be cool to create training videos that will get autotranslated transcripts for other countries.

We don't seem to have the 'Edit speaker' or 'Remove identification' option you mention at around 02:50. No dots, nothing. All the other features of Transcription are working. This would be a very useful feature for us - perhaps it's not fully rolled out yet? We have an Education licence. Thoughts?...
