I am an American and I have the upmost respect for the British SAS, the Australian SAS, and the New Zealand SAS and of course Delta Force. In my opinion, all three of these units could easily be classified as the worlds best.

I was in the RNZIR I did some courses with some NZSAS guys, troopers, soldiers we are all competitive when it comes down to it I thought they were gods before that and after I trained with them I can stand proud and say I held my own it was the most knowledgeable experience's in my life. The Brothers have no quit none.

Could care less who the best is, but my interest was always aimed at the Intelligence Tier 1 units like the US JREG or UK SRR.. I think the Aussie SAS have a equivalent called “4” Squadron? .. The surveillance and AFO work always fascinated me.

The SAS started using Delta weapons and skillsets in Afghanistan. The Delta are a larger, more experienced unit. The problem with the SAS is it's to small to cover all the skillsets it has to the same standard as the Delta. The Delta recruits from other SOF units, so it's operators are extremely experienced. The SAS mostly nowadays from the Parachute regiment, which is a shock and awe type regiment. If you watch interviews with ex soldiers of both units, the Delta operators appear more articulate with higher IQs.

#1 Experience! I'll take an 11b with 3 tours before a greenhorn from Ranger Bat. or SF selection.
#2 Who gets the all the missions? Useless you're in the know most successful missions are not talked about.
#3 Location plays a big part. Ready and able.

SBS tier one boys. Very top boys, my Dad was one. Don't ever forget 1Tier is SAS first as they get the media and rightly so, but SBS are equally as dangerous.

Who’s better? I suggest only someone who hasn’t served in any branch of any nation’s armed forces would ask such an asinine question.

easy answer : cobra command storm troopers, they are the most elite EVER... but don't underestimate the thundercats.

I will put my worthless two cents in. I say Delta is better because for one, they don't brag like Seals. I like that a lot.

Everyone knows the SAS are the number 1 in the world … they’ve been through so much more for so much longer.

SBS. Least talked about, most silent, and most secret.

SAS are the Grandfarther of ALL Special Forces worldwide, they advised on how to train Delta... they did the same with Australia, newzeland, seals, french special forces and the list goes on, if you want to create a team of real legit killing badasses you go to the SAS, those guys were deep behind enemy lines during WW2 before anyone even knew what 'special forces' was, of course the others are great and cool af in their own right but come on... the SAS take it.

Dumbest comparison/conversation ever. There’s no measure of what defines who is best. They are all superb and I’m damn glad they’re on our side

Who's better, well it comes down to the individual, not the regiment, you could have a shit hot proper psychopathic killer in basic infantry that is better, in a sense than some dude that done buds, it's like martial arts, its not the art, its the individual, you either have it or you do not, sure you can train someone, but they will never be as good as someone that is a natural predator, with the mindset, just because they do not join the seals, or the commandos, that doesn't mean anything. Being a former royal marine, 9 years in, i have met some cowardly useless pricks in the royal marines, the ffl, the sbs. the paras, and the navy seals, useless pricks do slip through. Now in a broader perspective, who is better, well whoever has the right techniques to weed out certain people, identify the right candidates, and then different training aspects. America has a bigger population to pick from, bigger armed forces, but as far as training, and experience, i think the UK takes it by a nose, sure you have all the equipment, budget, but you lack the experience, i've worked with all the above, i am biased, you're training never ends so i would put any of the boys in the royal marines that have learned a lot of different skillsets on par with any navy seals, beyond army rangers, or marsoc, just my opinion, the royal marines do not get classes as SF, they are. This is the order i would put tier 1 guys in SBS, SAS, DELTA, DEVGRU that is just my opinion from experience, but again as guys come and go that can change, depends who's in, who's out.

I'd put the Russians as most brutal SF. The Israelis as having the best intel networks, ingenious, and 2nd to the Russians in brutality.
