Some of the final words from the crew of the ill-fated Titan submersible, which imploded off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador last June, were revealed in a public hearing on Monday.

Presented by the U.S. Coast Guard alongside a re-creation of the doomed expedition, the hearing is expected to last two weeks and will examine the causes of the June 2023 implosion that instantly killed five people on board.

“All good here,” was among the Titan’s final responses, the hearing heard.

Global’s Heidi Petracek has the details.

It's crazy to imagine nearly 5, 000 pounds coming at you within a millisecond at every last angle of your body. They instantly became one with their environment.

They could sat in comfy chairs eating hot popcorn, watching an 8k video feed from an unmanned drone, with no risk except the popcorn. Apparently they were not looking out the porthole when the event occurred and were watching the video feed on small screens, without popcorn... what was the point of dying?

He was as careless as the owners of the Titanic. History repeated itself.

The air countdown by the media based on "banging noises" was pure cringe. These guys were red paste at 9:40 or so.

I don't see why this even a big story. Megalomaniac billionaire wants to build an experimental vehicle, that's his business. More rich people want to ride in said vehicle, that their business. Vehicle goes bye bye because it's experimental and by definition not safety certified, that's on the builder and the those who willingly took the risk. Case closed.

If you want to build an experimental vehicle/vessel, go for it, man. But don't drag others down with you—especially if they're the ones paying! I hope all families find peace from whatever comes of this.

As a claustrophobe I wouldn't step even one foot in this tin can. Poor kid did not want to go...

This is why they need to put the safety call into the hands of engineers instead of management with no engineering background.

Imagine getting fired for doing your job. The harsh reality of working for people who know nothing about your field of study.

There is no such thing as no danger when it comes to things like this. There is always a risk. Even on commercial transportation

Rush was an arrogant fool that was more concerned with surrounding himself with people that wouldn't say no to his reckless ideas.

You couldn't pay me enough to get into that thing, or any sub for that matter, and go under water. I climbed aboard a docked sub once, years ago, had a look arlund inside, and that was more than enough for me.

I have a good friend who designed, and built a small submersible and used it for a number of years. When news first broke of the Titan being lost, I called him and asked him what his thoughts were. His reply was "They are gone, that thing imploded".
