He really thought it was a testament to his genius to say “we built the same thing they have for half the price and twice the simplicity.” His ego killed him. That’s why he didn’t hire veteran submariners and fired the employee in 2018. He took any criticism or warning as a personal insult and just wanted everybody to agree and tell him he’s amazing.

He is one of the reasons why i never trust arrogant people with big egos.

The hubris on this dude is gigantic. He brought customers to the bottom of the ocean on a non-certified sub that was doomed to fail after a few dives. The sub couldn't even open from the inside so there was a chance the sub could have been lost on the ocean surface but the people inside would still die because they would run out of oxygen.
